⏱ You know you've been spending too much time on TDWTF when...
-
I was worried I'd get flamed for asking.
I asked, and thought I got flamed, but it was just the definition.
-
Just to clarify, are you guys saying the letters of those abbreviations or the actual words?
In the advanced stage of TDWTF syndrome, you pronounce them like words. "Ter-whatf", "t'dem-sir" etc.
-
Every single post I have liked, I have liked by had. Yes, I have scrolled through the entire likes topic (except the ones from last night that I haven't yet caught up on).
You deserve a badge for that.

Not in RL I don't, in RL I don't bother to treat them as acronyms or initialisations. TDEMSYR gets spoken in full and TRWTF is either "The Real WTF" or in full.

I don't deny that.
-
We need badges for creative (ab)use of full names and titles. I nominate @DoctorJones.
-
I wondered if anyone would notice that
I saw it too but felt it beneath my dignity to mention.
-
-
looks the wrong way, damn.
-
If only fa-spin still worked.
-
It was supposed to be .
-
-
And there's no emoji for that in Discourse? How fucked up IS it?
-
No , no . Clearly, they don't want us to emote about Dicsores. Although there is :facepunch:, which is appropriate.
-

Emoji are outsourced (or rather pinched - DC doesn't directly reference that git repository.)
-
And yet we have
-
Yes, but that's what we do to each other (and some of us do on meta.d), and it's independent of Dicsores. There was plenty of that back on CS.
-
-
I know, and it's (usually) hilarious too.
But I still feeling rolleyes and facepalm are missing and this should be rectified both here and upstream.

DOn't you mean NOREPOO?
-
Hey, it took out teh emoji!
ETA: norepro on the norepoo.
-
:lightbulb: :scratch_head:
These are all pretty standard emoji on all the non-Discourse forums I'm a member of.
-
Or at least some variation thereof even if not those specific ones.
-
You know you've been spending too much time on TDWTF when your wife starts using TDEMSYR in everyday conversation.

Edit: ok, it is tagged #tdwtf.

HAH! See post 35.
....oh, he links to his blog, which has TDWTF blogrolled. Oh well.
-
Maybe that was @BC_Programmer?
-
Same name, yeah. I don't recognize it though.

Google finds quite a few mentions, so it seems it has escaped into the environment.

It's a good acronym.

So that means that if my employer is reviewing my URL history, that every time I press the spacebar to scroll down the screen, it looks like a brand-new visit.

supervisor: So, tharpa, it looks like 99% of your browser history is this The Daily WTF thing...we're going to have a chat with your manager about this.
tharpa: I only visited it over my lunch hour!
supervisor: You must not do any real work then. Only 1% of your browser history is job-related.
-
It was. I'm using the same weird avatar here, that proves it, right?
-
Good enough for me.

Good enough for me.
I don't know if I believe it. The bc programmer website still has a link to <a class=@codіlnghorror's blog on his website, and it doesn't appear to be an ironic or sarcastic link either. No way they've been on this thing before.
edit: Nevermind, I see that was his first post, the dicsourse hasn't had time to burn in yet.

-
Is that a gauntlet I hear being thrown down?
-
Not really. I just wanted to beat everyone else to 2^11. And get there before you got 2^12.
-
My e-peen is safe once again, then?
-
Does anyone else hate giving someone the 11th like on a post? The one right after the badge threshold?
Also, this is an old topic. Do we have a new, similar one?
-
Does anyone else hate giving someone the 11th like on a post?
hmm... there should be a way to make the bots like a post so you can give it the 12th like instead..
-
Oh! OOOH!
It would be nice if you could do a
@likebot 123
(likes post #123 in the current topic), and maybe@likebot 123-456
(likes posts 123 to 456 in the current topic).Wait...
@likebot
already exists?
-
@real_likebot
?*ducks*

Like notpikes /t/1000. HHaven'tseen her do anything else

I think Likebot is the one that used to also follow blakey round liking everything he posted.
-
maybe. also wow... autocorrect bit me bad on that one. posted from android because thats what i had on me at the time.
-

I don't hate it, but it's a little disappointing. "9 people liked this. Like it too," is just sweet, sweet Like bait.
