One way to not have to do customer service

About two weeks ago, I placed an order at an online store. As of today, I haven’t received it yet, so I thought I’d check the order status, which turns out to have last been updated to “processing” a day after I ordered. Luckily, at the bottom of the order confirmation the webshop had mailed me, it says that in case I have questions, I should reply to that message. Duly done.
Maybe ten, fifteen minutes later I see I have a new message. “Have they gotten back to me already?” I think, and check it out. What I find is a message in my inbox with my own name and address as the sender, and as the actual message, exactly what I’d typed in my reply … Odd.
Right, let’s try that again: select the order confirmation, hit Reply, and … yes, I’m writing a message to myself (again). I hadn’t noticed it before, because hey, if you reply to a message, why would you look at the address it’s going to?
Viewing the order confirmation’s source shows what I suspected and what I’m sure you’ve already guessed: their webshop software puts a
Reply-To
in the message that contains the recipient’s address …!
