Skype Redirect Loop (no clever title)
-
Just went to www.skype.com today to upgrade my Skype client and got an interesting "Redirect Loop" error. Guess I'm not upgrading today.
-
Wow. I'm speechless.

Which country do you live in/what are your Firefox language preferences? I've once had something simalar when my computer and location was dutch (nl-NL) but my firefox was english (and had en-EN as first preference, altough I think nl-NL was in it too).
I kept getting redirected between their dutch and english site.

How could it detect such a thing? What if the redirection depends on the phase of the Moon, and if you keep trying it'll actually redirect you somewhere more interesting?

I live in Canada, language is English, and my Firefox prefs are all default. Before I posted, I had a friend, also in Canada, check on his mac, and it did it too.

Meh, this is a pretty common error when someone goofs up an Apache config or has an unhandled case in redirect code. Not that interesting. Generally you can end up at the "real" site if you just find the actual URL you are supposed to be using, although that can take some work..

Psh.
Sounds like a Canadian friend to me.

Is it working now? You can try http://www.skype.com/intl/en/ if it isn't.

Sound like you're better without him. If he's mad at you for posting on TDWTF, just wait til he finds out what you did to his wife!
