Me too!! That was my point, it doesn't make sense. I'm not really into the whole smoking/non-smoking debate (although it's made interesting reading....), the sympathy was more for the inanity of the memo (which I think was the OPs main point before the inevitable tangent). ie 10' is impractical, and the insurance thing is a nonsense because the front door opens onto a public right of way where the public can stand and smoke. Thank you, and I would like to add that I don't particularly like flaming people for being idiot trolls. It leads to the downward-spiral that we were in a few months ago and now I try to (and sometimes fail) to avoid "meta-discussion", as ammoQ put it. That being said, your list is dead-on and I hope this bullshit stops soon. Farmer Brown reminds me of MPS with the hyperactive attacks on every single poster, but without the occasional intelligent comment or joke MPS would make as well.
