Congrats, but the "again" raises some uncomfortable questions.
Edit: buttuming the again wasn't supposed to indicate a gap in dad status, but that is how I parsed it at first.

your "everybody else is stupid and the way I see things is the right way to see things 100% of the time, no exceptions" attitude is going to bite you in the ass hard one of these days.
We get to see that in his bitching on a regular basis.
Still, it's pretty amazing that they managed to break source code compatibility but not binary compatibility.
That probably does qualify as a WTF, but it's one I'd be proud of having done actually.
is not good
Nope, but it does provide some job security to the support guys that handle those calls (and should either reduce that of the developer, or the approver who said "OK" to design despite the warnings).
Q: How many molecules in a bowl of guacamole?
A: Avacado's Number
That's more of a chem joke than a math joke.
Isn't that a standard export restriction clause on basically everything (though it would make more sense if you had to state it was allowed instead of almost always 'no')?
I've found myself doing that too.
Leaving an anonymous gift on people's doorsteps that is actually vaguely threatening (dolls that look like a kid living in the home).
Wasting money running for president when you have no chance of winning.
Basically the short of it is (per my understanding) our bugs rarely were important things for the paying customers and we were a huge drag on team morale, thus getting rid of us was done to keep them doing things that could make money.
OK, people have been arguing this at you and it is obvious that you are conflating different kinds of gender here (subject/word). Have you studied a real language other than English? Many that would have been made available (due to US) in your school system should have had that difference so I'm wondering if this is just trolling or honest confusion.
My Esperanto course
NOOOOOOO!!!!!! We are going to get things in both lojban and esperanto now. Also, your school offers Esperanto or is this something that you are doing in addition?
Sandwich is the the general version of all those things. Hamburgers are sandwiches but not the other way. Actually here maybe this will work better to describe how this works:
public class Sandwich
{ }
public class Sub : Sandwich
{ }
public class Hamburger : Sandwich
{ }
We're on Office 2010. All the files open in the same master window; when I move one, I move them all.
Rather than double clicking the file to open it, go to the menu and start excel that way. With 2007 that gets you a second master window. Annoying, but it works.
EDIT:
@Jarry said:then he didn't understood gandalf at allOnly a little bit borken: "He didn't understand Gandalf at all."
wow, missed the tense. Sorry @Jarry my auto correction on read made it look good when it wasn't.
Sorry, had an hour long conversation in regards to a guesstimate that the customer was questioning. I had based an estimate of something (a) on another project (b) that sounded really similar. The customer complained as some thing (c) had an estimate that was about 1/4 the size of (b) and was similar to (a). Then after this hour long multi person conversation an update to the estimation of A was accepted in like 5 minutes that was roughly newA = C/2 = 2B. Meaning that the hour long conversation should probably have been much shorter than an hour and I'm frustrated with those that caused it to take an hour.
If they fix it then the VBA junk that runs companies breaks. Backwards compatibility is why MS stuff is great.
It does make me wonder where the hell else morbs hangs out on the internet is though.
Well by my memory people tended to just do the image. If you posted a plain link it would be left alone, but that is running off my shitty memory.
EDIT: Oh, here is one without the switch and a brief bit of talk about switching:
I, er, can't.
oh uh, sorry you've got things that are broken in wonky ways that prevent the workaround.
Our subfloor is 2x12's on 12" centers (code is 16" centers) and then there are two layers of subflooring. One layer of 1x6 planking with a layer of 3/4" sheathing on top of that.
OK, now I understand using concrete on something other than bottom layer. But the idea of using it not on the bottom still makes me jittery without posts of it (with encased rebar). But that may be due to growing up in a place that actually has earthquakes.
'slower' is string concatenation.
Yeppers. Though the not writing to disk for disk writing is a bigger issue than not using a string builder for the in memory version IMO.
Unfortunately they've been at it long enough that I'm starting to hear people think Google UIs are good and should be emulated.
For some of the "enterprise" things I have to use I wish the devs would copy Google UIs. They may be terrible but still a step up.
Why do you think it's bullshit?
I think he has said before that he objects to the data gathering in exchange for lowered prices (or non-raised prices as he probably puts it) is some kind of extortion (though I can't remember what hoops he jumped through/goal posts he shifted to make it different from avoiding website analytics stuff that someone mentioned in a previous argument about it). But this is vague memories so treat details as I'm lying.
Do these people just set out to make the stupidest idea possible?
Cashing in on someone's nostalgia pretty much requires you to do something stupid instead of the newer better ways.
I should not have read that at work. Trying not to laugh out loud (and thus explain what I was reading) was a struggle.
I think that's probably the only post I've made on the old forum that's not in a sidebar thread...
Uh... that thread is in the sidebar.
tarunik:
5 days of training isn't all that much in the grand scheme of thingsI ain't done no grinding nothing in WOW that took no 5 days.
My understanding of that is it is five actual days, but all you as a player are doing is saying start timer that runs in the background while you are doing other junk in the game.
After all, the poles will need to be able to track up to 4380 o'clock.
You left out the twilight periods (though civil, nautical, or astronomical changes how long of a twilight you should be dropping) which reduce how long the sun is up.
who considered test failures a microagression against her, personally
Buh? You successfully doing your job is someone doing something against you? That sounds more like lazy hiding behind the SJW terminology.
Oh I know, but it's sad just how little exaggeration you were using.
That video was not what I was expecting based on the title, but maybe I've been talking to much with a Dom.
I wanted to embed it in Word, not edit it in Excel.
But the office things are tied together such that word is going "hey excel open this file and tell me about it so I can insert junk". Or at least that is my best guess and it kinda makes sense, but it is annoying that you would need to close a workbook to insert it.
I've asked some more questions and it is to support some tax breaks we are getting for development. So it's to prove development is occurring and tie that to specific projects.
Then the real question is what is easy for accounting to read (or when they spec a format near when they need it how easy to get your records into said format).
Status: So that is why my work machine is always having issues with memory, it has 32 bit windows on it.
That kid looks creepy.
He is eating jam advertised as "tastes like grandma". Pretty sure he is supposed to be creepy.
EDIT: and by The Family Fruit Basket LLC which just make the phrase worse.
There were businesses that would not use my IT services because I was too cheap. I raised my prices, and started making sales again. Markets can be mystifying.
This actually makes lots of sense. As you have described your business you are their IT department, charging too little means you may go out of business or drop the client as they don't make you enough. The risk this poses makes people more nervous than the lower prices make them excited.
EDIT: I'm a cubical drone, but in BPO
My compliers course had a group project for the main output where we were handling a tiny subset of java but you were required to have some additions to the minimum language spec. So we had to do a lexer, some optimizer things, and then final output (IIRC most did output for the JVM to run but not everyone). Will have to dig through stacks to find what textbook we used.
But yeah it is something you could do (course I took was 10 week 400 level). Start with a subset of what to handle first though as you can then add on capabilities later.
This makes me sad every time someone says this.
Why? Some of us aren't exactly good parental material and this is part of the reason we don't want kids.
That would work too. It might even be more helpful.
Solar Freakin' Rodways
That is far more worrisome than Solar Roadways (or did I miss something in one of the discussions I dropped out of?).
Isn't that "close enough for Government work?"
IDK, it lets on a reasonable amount of users at once so it's probably still too high quality for Gov software.
Note: you are trying to show that discourse does something to screw up an image by posting a side by side between screwy and original. You then put the comparison on the thing that supposedly screws stuff up. Do you not see where problems could be introduced in your demonstration?
Convert the value 25 into an 8-bit binary number. Show your working.
They want you to attach a video of you doing the conversion?
Wikipedia was enlightening on the subject.
Link maybe? The phrase:
magical pickle in my Christmas tree
Sounds like it may have some NSFW results.
