Just to clarify, are you guys saying the letters of those abbreviations or the actual words?

RE: The Big Snoopy Thread of S-E-X
1) On the Kinsey Scale, what is sexual orientation?
-
On the same 0..6 scale, what is your romantic/emotional orientation?
-
What is your birth sex(es)? If you're intersexed, you don't necessarily need to go into detail about your anatomy, and in fact most people would probably prefer if you didn't (I don't care, but then I've had partners of atypical genitalia before).
-
What is/was your assigned gender, that is, what were you raised as?
-
What gender, if any, do you consider yourself to be? Answers are free-form, you can say 'truck' if you want to, just try to explain it if it is really complicated (BTDT).
-
What gender do you present yourself in public as, if any?
1. -100
2. Don't understand the question.
3. Male
5. Male
4. Chuck Norris
5. Jedi

RE: ❤ my 1337ness
Presuming it happens, you'll still have the likes, they just won't count towards badges.
What do you think the response would be if you deleted the likes topic when it reached 9999 posts?
-
RE: Unable to select any badge
I think it would be good to have a small icon, like the moderator trophy.

Creating energy would be cool, because gas is fucking expensive.
I can generate infinite gas by consuming a single curry.

History API Question
How does Discourse get the history API to update the URL for every reply, but still allow the back button to take the user to the previous page? This would be very useful for a project I'm working on, but I can't seem to phrase my search appropriately to find the answer on Google.

RE: Closed Poll: "Likes" Thread - Since it's been asked (again)...
Yes but I have something of a life. It's not much but I'm not sacrificing what little I do have in honour of that.
Come on, we all know that you'll be here in twenty years leading the 1M charge.

RE: Closed Poll: "Likes" Thread - Since it's been asked (again)...
Also autoclose after 60minutes adds to the trolling-flavour!
Would be cool if you could set a time limit from the last post rather than the first one. It would essentially be a feature to close stale threads when people stop posting, but it could also add to the frantic nature of the likes thread if a short limit such as 60 minutes was set.

Support for an existing codebase
This isn't really coding help, but it's the closest category.
In May, I'll be leaving my current company where I've been employed as the sole developer for the last five years. I've built four main websites in PHP (using the Yii Framework). The main development work is basically complete, so the company has decided not to replace me as they don't think there will be enough work for a full time developer. They would like to find a separate company that can offer support on an ad-hoc basis for any small developments or urgent maintenance. For reference, the company is in Retford (Nottinghamshire) in the UK.
Do such companies exist, and if so, what terms should I search for to find them? Does anyone have recommendations for suitable companies in the UK, or any other advice? Do any of you guys do PHP contracting work and would you be willing to offer such support?
Fair warning: there's definitely some ugly code in there. You're not allowed to submit it to TDWTF.

RE: @darkmatter necroing topics is a barrier to reading legitimate new content
posting in a Suggested Topic to Necro is what someone complains about
I wasn't complaining, I was putting you forward for an honour.
-
RE: History API Question
I experimented with replaceState(), but it seemed to be screwing with the history of previous pages. I'll try again tonight if that's the correct method.
Thanks for your help.

RE: @darkmatter necroing topics is a barrier to reading legitimate new content
but I don't like it that much to include it twice.
Yeah, I noticed that. I prefer the phrasing of the second one.

RE: History API Question
That looks very useful; I'll check it out this evening.

RE: The Official Good Ideas Thread™
That sounds like you'd get improper mixing or the wrong proportions or something.
Not to mention the risk of cross contamination between the butter and bread. There's nothing worse that crumbs in the butter.

RE: @darkmatter necroing topics is a barrier to reading legitimate new content
Do you get a mention from a topic title? I'm not sure @darkmatter is aware.
Maybe you could let @darkmatter know for me?

RE: Badge suggestions - ones with added thought
He lost me at using Oracle.
Maybe I was delirious from the previous talk about Oracle and got confused into agreeing with @Nagesh.
-
RE: Badge suggestions - ones with added thought
My counter for that is still at zero. It could probably be defined as a constant.
That's what I thought, then this happened.

I can't help but notice that @the_dragon and @abarker also seem to be alive.

RE: Bot Duel!
I know it was. However, I keep following him around and liking his posts
You are a terrible person, @Arantor.

RE: Bot Duel!
One can't tell him that often enough.
Would you like to comment on his claims made in the following posts?
Please note that only comments where you refute the claims, and / or insult @Arantor will be accepted.

RE: Closed Poll: Do you have Discourse Syndrome
We already did that the other day. @abarker and @the_dragon against poor \me.
Who won?

RE: Bot Duel!
I can't believe you made me read through 10 pages of this crap for the context. I almost wish the pagination is back so I have an excuse to stop.
Not really the help I was looking for, but it did make me feel better, so thank you for that.

As far as I understand, in finance, you're required to use a numerically incrementing value.

It's not fair, @Nagesh has a badge. :(

Especially, after @Luhmann said "zizi".
No, my brain replaced the vowels and thought of this:
I'm starting to think that I might have a problem.

RE: The likes topic is a barrier to reading the badge page
I was more trying to draw attention to that particular topic, I'm afraid
I'll let you off this once...
Also, weirdly, I thought you were @PJH. I need more visual cues than just avatars and usernames to identify people it seems.

RE: WTF happened to Windows 95?
Have you tried 8.1? They've already fixed the worst bits, and 8.1 is brilliant.
Yes, I have it installed on my (occasional use) laptop. It is an improvement over 8, but I was waiting for features such as the ability to run the Metro* type apps in a window, so that I could place them how I liked rather than in the incredibly limited ways that the existing interface offers.
I was also waiting for Microsoft to integrate the whole OS better so that there wasn't such a jarring switch between the two types of application. I got frustrated by the fact that regular desktop applications would respond to certain actions, while the Metro type ones would expect completely different actions.
* I don't know what they're calling Metro now. I've stopped trying to keep up.
