@Gern_Blaanston It's good that I get a second pee pee after about 40 hours, but holding a poo poo for 80 hours would probably be... quite painful in the end.

RE: Facebook Messenger × EU = Stupidity²
Messenger has become incredibly buggy. Uploading pictures through the desktop app will render them unrenderable for the recipient. It will sometimes just refuse to actually send messages, meaning it's Schrödinger's message until you get a reply. Sending a message in the browser will make the recipient's name flash between read and unread several times until it settles on "unread". For the message I sent mind you.
Also, once I can un- I may try and fix the issue of an aquaintance being unable to access Messenger due to the requirement to log in on a mobile device to accept the new terms, due to lack of owning a mobile device. Apparently a use case the big brain engineers at Meta could not envision.

Unfortunately I have programmed in C at least once so I am all of the above. I learnt the languages in chronological order for some reason, so C -> C++ -> Java -> C#. And no, I am not that old. C# had... looks it up ...just been released when I started learning C.

Professional fucking developers? Isn't it just a simple:
while(!orgasm) { partner.vagina(penis); }
Substitute for other body parts/orifices/implements depending on preference.

RE: Nope
I had a wasp nest in my bedroom wall one year. Could hear them crawling around, but thankfully they only had an exit to the outside. Although they don't seem to have returned so I hope it was just the one summer.
And also, the name of the news site is clearly wrong for this particular news item!

RE: Commuting WTF Thread
Today in bus: Bus was delayed by 15 minutes by a guy who has no valid ticket, refused to buy a valid ticket and refused to get off the bus and instead argued with the driver and a passenger.
: Are you really going to hold up this bus full of people?
: YES!After the bus driver had called the police and then did an announcement on the PA system that "the bus wont move until the police gets here [to remove the guy]" the guy did finally give up and got off on his own accord.

@Zerosquare That's not a physical impossibility. It is, of course, dumb, and was clearly shot with the soldering iron cold, but it was physically arranged and photographed. The AI one, on the other hand, features a levitating can which couldn't be arranged that way for a photo.

@dkf With the money they are saving on developers they can hire more manglement to try and figure why their software is so broken and buggy nowadays.

Some modified police chase video from Sweden is apparently making the rounds in an edited and sped up version with extra sound effects.
The driver, who is touted as the "world's best", in reality is driving a stolen station wagon with a flat tire and is high on tramadol.

RE: In other news today...
@DogsB I would say that "ban plagiarized ad-infested shitpiles" is a good policy regardless of what store it is on. The original emulator developer himself is making an alternative app store for EU to distribute his version of the emulator through more official means.

RE: TIL (about the Dark Arts of HTML)
@Carnage I have visited a textile manufacturer still using old-school looms programmed with punched tapes. Interesting to see work.

@Bulb So it's like they saw what Apple did with the login screen/screensaver in Sonoma and implemented it in a completely hamfisted way?
The default login screen of Sonoma is a slow flight over winefields, which goes into a static background image of said winefield when logging in.

RE: WTF is happening with Windows 11? And nothing else
Yeah, I guess it's related to an issue I had. I had my NAS off which meant my network drives were unavailable, which caused Explorer to silently freeze when trying to open. Until it timed out and opened a bunch of windows all at once (because click icon, nothing happens, click again etc.) and promptly crashed.
Also, because of Notepad's new auto-open files feature, Notepad would also take an eternity to open as I had a network drive file open in it. But it would still load the contents of that file from its own cache in the end, so why it had to be stupid slow to open at start I do not understand.

I'm an artist and animator and I've lost way too much work to AI. The only thing I can rely on is the Furries. They shun and excommunicate anyone using it. Those lovely loyal little perverts are keeping a roof over my head.

RE: Shipping Antipatterns
@Arantor All of the ships! I mean, every ship will be considered an antipattern by at least someone.

RE: WTF Bites
@TwelveBaud Why is the slide carousel so fast? What is it, like 1 second per image?
-
RE: Shipping Antipatterns
@accalia It just may have been my intention all along, making an ever-given pun on the more visible lettering rather than the name of the ship. I did also see a truck hauling a container bearing the Evergreen logo when going to work the other week, making me joke about not getting to work that day. The legacy lives on.
The shipping antipatterns could however be applied to the other kind of shipping too. I mean, there is all from various ships of various types of sometimes questionable logic to the entire movement of anti-shipping itself.
