See title, @mentions inside an abbr tag break formatting. At least I think that’s what happened, let’s see if it can be reproduced:

This is a known bug. I know I've reported it and I think @pie_flavor and @Tsaukpaetra and perhaps others as well.
IIRC, it's due to the order of parsing for the NodeBB formatter (bold, italicized, - list items,
strikethrough, links, and @mentions) and our special, customized TDWTF formatter (abbr,delinsdelinsinsdel).

I also reported it recently-ish, I think.
The funny part is that it breaks only when the mention is a valid username, otherwise it doesn't get replaced and therefore the abbr works fine. So you can do that, but not @topspin">this.
