Search freezes the entire page, but only with some search terms
-
Some search terms (possibly some result from those terms) are causing the search page to become unresponsive.
E.g. if I search for
something
, it works fine. I can scroll around, open the advanced search options, etc. However, if I search for (e.g.)off by one
, it completely freezes everything, including the composer. Also apparently it doesn't update the tab title, as seen in the "Page Unresponsive" dialog that the browser throws up:
Possibly relevant information: Windows 10, Chrome 71

Ah, I see my notice of this problem has been noticed by other persons!
Edit: Wait, that's not the right one, one sec...
Edit edit: Damn, I can't find it, but searching for a specific post which happens to contain all the emojis will cause this. I can't seem to discover it anymore...

Bump. I just had the same thing happen looking for the "Discussion of NodeBB Updates" thread, so I had to manually scroll and ctrl+f like a caveman

Tried it. Didn't make it unresponsive, just very slow until FF told me that a script in uBlock Origin is making a page slow.

Which post has all the emoji in it we we can purge/test case it?

@Tsaukpaetra I found this:
https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/11601/full-list-of-currently-supported-emoji
Which came from a search that executed fine.

Clear cache and check again.

I just tried searching for the emoji post, and it hung for a few seconds while rendering the images, but it was fine afterwards. Whereas the other searches that had problems never recovered.
