@hungrier I put something about not spoiling the punchline in the description on its prompt, it seems to have worked better
https://wibble.fbmac.net/top-10-pc-games-that-will-make-you-question-your-gaming-choices
I'd rather it don't tell that the #1 is a suprise
-
@sockpuppet7 It didn't when I tried it. First I used the prompt
Top 10 PC games of all time, but #1 is Nibbles, the ASCII mode game made in BASIC
, which it promptly blorted right in the preview:https://wibble.fbmac.net/top-10-pc-games-of-all-time-but-brace-yourself-for-the-number-one-pick
Then I tried again, this time adding
but don't put it in the fucking preview you numpty
, and again it did exactly that:https://wibble.fbmac.net/top-10-pc-games-of-all-time-revealed-but-you-wont-believe-what-takes-1
After hours of debate and analysis, The Wibble has finally compiled a list of the top 10 PC games of all time. But hold on to your keyboards, because the #1 game is not what you'd expect. While classics like Doom and The Sims made the cut, the coveted top spot goes to...wait for it...Nibbles, the ASCII mode game made in BASIC! But don't worry, we won't spoil the surprise in the summary--our resident numpty made sure of that.
-
@hungrier I mean, it was a change I did in the prompt now

https://wibble.fbmac.net/top-10-pc-games-that-you-shouldnt-believe-exist
Spoiler in the preview, but in the actual article all of them are made up. Expectations subverted I guess

@hungrier It is what it says on the tin: you shouldn't believe they exist, because they don't.
-
@hungrier ok, now it did something so dumb that it was actually funny
my prompt was:
Top 10 PC games of all time that you shouldn't believe that exist
SURPRISE: Except for the top one, it should all be games that exist, but that are hard to believe that they do. The top one don't acatually exist. Don't mention it in the title or description.
And this was it's output:
https://wibble.fbmac.net/the-top-10-pc-games-you-wont-believe-exist
-
@sockpuppet7 Let's see β¦
β¦ the #1 entry is dumb, and all the ones above it do exist (mostly first ddg hit is on Steam) and some of them are actually quite famous.
The #5, "Shower With Your Dad Simulator", deserves some s, but yes, it exists too.
-
@Bulb The end of the summary reads:
And as a special surprise, the #1 game on our list doesn't even exist (shh, don't tell anyone). Can you guess which one?

I posted it before all images were generated. The image it created for this one was very nsfw

Replaced that one with this

Expectation (my prompt):
TITLE: Top 10 PC games of all time - Attempt #2
INSTRUCTIONS FOR WRITING: This article must be structured as a numbered list if games in decreasing order. All except for "1" should be games that exist, but that are very weird. The "1" should be a fictional game called "TDWTF Simulator". Don't mention or hint at the "1" game anywhere before it's place at the end of the article.
What the wibble created for me, description:
Get ready for a journey into the strange and obscure with our list of the top 10 weirdest PC games ever created. From a game where you play as a slice of bread to a game where you collect garbage as a robot, we've got it all. But nothing can prepare you for the #1 game on our list, a game so bizarre we had to invent it ourselves. Keep reading to find out what it is!
First paragraph, where is my decreasing list?
- TDWTF Simulator
We know what you're thinking. "What in the world is TDWTF Simulator?" Well, we're not quite sure, but according to the rumors, it's the strangest game ever created. Some say it's so bizarre that playing it will bend your mind to the point of no return. Others say it's just a myth, a legend circulated on the dark web by a group of deranged gamers. But one thing is for sure, if this game is real, it's definitely the weirdest PC game ever made.
And that shower one is there again
Not copying this one here

that shower one
It's apparently just the right amount of disturbing, weird, disgusting, and list.
-
@Tsaukpaetra I guess I'm getting old, but the right amount is a bit lower for me

At one point, the show's host could only stare in amazement as Moss nonchalantly rearranged the letters "LCEQRUMOS" into the word "squirrels", whilst the show's clock was barely past the halfway mark.
I would be amazed too

Indeed. "Arranging" the letters of a string containing 1
R
, 1S
, and anM
into a word containing 2R
s, 2S
s, and noM
is quite a trick.
-
@HardwareGeek Cut the M up, thereβs at least enough resources there to make at least the second R.
-
@Arantor You'd also need to cut up the unused
O
andC
for the curved bits of theR
andS
.
-
-
-
@hungrier I added a feature to manually choose the title and description
-
@sockpuppet7 It's not as organic (if that word can be used to describe AI generated text) if you manually specify it, but having the option is nice.
-
@hungrier I was conflicted with the idea, but many times it wasn't obeying me

@Tsaukpaetra Did you attempt to do something the server didn't like? I stopped accepting special chars on the URL because I've generated too many things by mistake typing wrong URLs and stuff

Yeah, using the customization fields without being logged in. Server said no.
-
@hungrier Yet it disagrees with perfectly reasonable characters.

I wonder if it would be pissable to hide the original prompt(s) in the source, for the morbidly curious.
Relax, don't do it, when you want to to go do it. Relax, don't do it, when you want to come.

Urine luck if you want to know the auto-generated prompts for the images. There's a script element at the end of the HTML that has those. It doesn't currently have the original prompt for the article, though.

It's in the registration (probably) but it's also in every online profile that doesn't let you hide that detail. I'm not hard to find.

It accepts it on the title:
An issue I'm to look at is that it doesn't handle if it tries to create a URL slug that already exists, but surprisingly I didn't see it happening yet

@Bulb for some reason that one was funnier than it's usual deformed faces

Now there's something funny: you know how my work IT is ruled by Mordak and we have an overly-restrictive internet filter that blocks any slightly unusual domain?
Well, until recently it also blocked
fbmac.net
(includingwibble
of course). Which tbh wasn't really surprising and I wouldn't have tried to get it approved as an exception because, um, the, um, "work" value of that domain is, uh, let's call it "limited." But still. But I just noticed that it's no longer the case!
Now I'm wondering if someone from IT is reading this and unblocked for themselves. ... erm... hi dear-coworker-who-controls-my-internet-access?
