If there's one thing the British are good at, it's being wrong. At least they're not Belgian. Although they do have a sense of humor unlike the Germans...
How many nations can I slander in a single post? I'm an equal opportunity bigot I guess.

There isn't.
There are at least 3: queuing, tea and self deprecating humour (I'm not very good at the last one)

I watched a gameshow this Saturday where some of our prominent comedians were on display. And I thought to myself several times:
"This. This is why the rest of the world thinks we don't have a sense of humor."
There are some gems. But they're not popular.
One example of a great guy (German only, though):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkNddCXSLvMHe's very harsh and acidic.
Translated excerpt:
Just try to remember: When was the last time this carnival of entertainment stopped for just a moment? Yes, you probably cannot remember - I think the last time was 9/11. Oh, don't go "Oooh" on me, spare me! Finally two weeks where you could deal with the serious things. But you probably cannot demolish a skyscraper every week just to get some silence to be able to think.

@Rhywden I've heard that Henning Wehn isn't considered funny in Germany because his comedy is basically "look how German I am" and he comes across as just normal to you guys. Is that accurate?

Well, he isn't considered funny because pretty much anyone (including me) will go: "Who?"

Under certain conditions, the controller can be accessed by an attacker and used to control the actions of the player

My run of not having to use Git in a professional environment is over, despite part of my reason for moving to my current job being that there was talk of switching to it at my old job.
I'm currently waiting for a repository consisting entirely of a single zip (containing two sqlite database files) to clone. If it was in TFVS like any sensible person would use, I'd be done by now, but of course this is Git so it's going to download the entire history before it lets me do anything.

Reproducibility !

@TimeBandit yeah, Git is severely unreproduceable
-
@Jaloopa I use the proper Git and never have to try again.
You're not blaming the right tool

@TimeBandit
But blaming oneself is so passe

@TimeBandit No one who likes git is very likely to reproduce.

The error was something about an unexpected EOF and the other end of the connection refusing. I doubt there's much a different client would have done differently

Never even heard of him.
Watched a minute of him on youtube and I didn't notice anything other than his overblown German accent. I don't usually consider that funny, I cringe at my own accent so I don't need to hear his.
But to be fair, I also cringe when I hear myself recorded in general, even in German. (A case of "my voice surely can't be that bad?!" It sounds different the way I hear it)US friend of mine loves Flula. I find him mildly amusing.

There's some good comedians (even of those who call themselves comedians, your pick surely would call himself a satirist) but a lot of awful shit. Who exactly do you mean? I can already picture how bad it was.

Doesn't really do it justice in text form, you need his performance to go along with it.

You considered changing jobs because of git??
I didn't change jobs when my previous company migrated from Outlook/Exchange to Lotus Notes/Domino. I mean, it would have been justified, but when I did eventually quit it wasn't because of Notes.
-
@topspin it was a factor. Not a major one but it was definitely part of the decision. The way they went about it seemed symptomatic of the way IT in the company seemed to be moving under the new management that had come in, and I wasn't entirely confident they weren't going to slowly outsource all development and eventually lay off the programming staff they had over a few years

You would have also been justified if whoever approved that decision was found cut up in tiny pieces...

So the popular German comedians aren't funny, and the funny ones aren't popular. And you think this doesn't prove that Germans are humor-impaired?

if that's your idea of funny, then I think it is merely further evidence. Please at least tell me that he was trying to inject some wry humor into an otherwise serious political topic and not the other way around...
