Thanksgiving in Canada does not fall on the same day as Thanksgiving in the US.
Canadian Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October
US Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November
For some reason, it seems that the US celebration is about eating oneself silly while watching 22 men carry a ball around in their hands while pretending to play football.
Which is actually a sport that the rest of the world knows is played with any part of the body BUT the hands.
Citizens of the US may know this game as soccer.
It is unlikely that they will though. Seems that they may be too busy watching said 22 men chase their non-round ball (yes, non round) and not worrying about the debt clock that seems to have run out of digits.

And oh, the ball, unlike balls around the rest of the world, is not round.
