Incidentally, I don't think BlakeyRat would be voting the "Something New" guy

For what its worth, its not a candidate, it's a blank line. Candidates are listed alphabetically, and this is Horsham (you can tell from the candidate postcodes, that must be in the constituency). The "Something New" party candidate is the last on the ballot.

RE: Enlightened
You think you're funny?!? .... oh ... Um. OK. Actually, that explains a lot.

RE: I++ vs i+=1
Given this hidiom started in C, you've got to be doubly careful because in C
int q = (++i + 4) * (i++-1);
isn't just hideous and ugly and stupid, its also undefined what the result is (up to and including segmentation faults, later untraceable off-by-one errors and nasal demons). It's one of the canonical DONT DO THIS of C programming (modifying a variable twice without a sequence point in between).

RE: The right to fork makes open source software a breeding ground for innovation!?
Ahh @blakeyrat. All the charm of a men's right activist, and the reasoning skills of men's rights activist.
Don't worry, one day everyone will appreciate you as the genius you know yourself to be.

RE: Abstracting the Bitwise abstraction
Pure bit wise logic operations (i.e. NOT, AND, OR, XOR etc) are transitive w.r.t. circular rotation of the arguments (i.e. ROT(x) * ROT(y) == ROT(x*y)).
This problem does not have that property, so to solve it you'll have to use something that is not a pure bit-wise operation (e.g. bit-shifting).
