RE: How To Demoralize Employees: A DIY Guide for Terrible Companies
DO NOT LIKE!
that's terrible!

RE: Minecraft- unrelated shenanigans
I'll agree with that sentiment. EvilSeph's comments to the public were extremely carefully worded. they did not say, or imply, that EvilSeph would do anything to hamper an effort to continue the project.
However, the same could be said for EvilSeph helping an effort to continue the project.
on the other hand Wolvereness reads like a 16yo with a bruised ego lashing out in a "if i can't have it my way, then no one can have it" manner.

RE: 🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.
yes i had noticed that.
that's the first picture form @Yamikuronue that i couldn't see, which contrasts nicely to her not being able to see... well pretty much any of mine.

RE: 🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.
Celebrating version 0.0.1 of my sock puppet robot being successfully deployed to my own personal github account.

softcoded so we can change the target if needed.
return of @nagesh maybe?
-
RE: Bennett Haselton
should the bot have a triggerable @mention bomb feature?
/me thinking evil thinking
-
RE: Bennett Haselton
i'll grant you the two are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
-
RE: The Official Status Thread
less fun than building a bot, but i take your point.
-
RE: 🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.
For my server we do that first weekend in september.
If a new version comes out we upgrade and either set up a netherrail to a new chunks area or use command block TP pads (pressure plates)
i am considering resetting on the half year, but that'll end up being a community decision, not an edict from the goddess.
-
RE: Sexy Sock Puppet Master List
'preciate that. now i have to actually get off my arse and finish writing him.
-
RE: 🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.
Haven't looked at it yet. I'll PM you if i figure it out.
twitchTV is built into the clinet so that's what i'd use to start.
-
RE: Sexy Sock Puppet Master List
He will be
unless i goof in the genetic algorithm. in that case... RUN!
-
RE: 🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.
yum yum!
lemon merangue...
i should start doing some livestreams of the server... that's a good idea.
i couldn't do voice chat without some sort of voice filter though, for reasons.

RE: 🎂The cupcake thread of celebrations.
I'm celebrating the yearly relaunch of my Minecraft Server for students, mentors, and alums of STEM programs (especially FIRST ROBOTICS)
75% of registered users (total 94) have logged in since it went live saturday and i still have no reports of Griefing! (these are mostly high school students mind you.)
i am celebrating with pie!
-
RE: The Official Status Thread
Realizing i forgot to log in here at all over the weekend, ruining my attendance.
-sigh- i really need to finish that sockbot script so i can be always online.

RE: Minor bug: "Don't update URL" plugin option displays wrong
+1 (i assure you there's a character there after the '+'
adblockers for the lose!

RE: Printing Discourse
what's really fun is getting the troll baiters to bait each other and bite!
that requires sublty.
or it was fun anyway, unfortunately the average inteligence of trolls and trollbaiters has dropped lately. it's too easy now
-
RE: The nerdy jokes thread (bonus original title mode!)
I hate b usinesses that think the need to control the internet to that extent.
I see the need for filtering out viruses and other questionable/illegal activity, but to say you can't has facebook because not everyone could resist always being on it‽
nope. if you cannot resits using facebook at work and it impacts your work... then i guess you are asking to be fired![^1]
[^1] Note: IANAL, don't take that as legal advice!
-
RE: The nerdy jokes thread (bonus original title mode!)
robot is golfing, and shouts 0-1-0-0 when it hits the ball.
also, your work filter sucks. it's blocking all the fun out of your world.
-
RE: Printing Discourse
more like feeding the troll actually.
i've hung around /b/ long enough to be aware of most of the common ways of destroying your computer.
i used to have tons of fun baiting the trolls by pretending to use their instructions on platforms they weren't meant to destroy(like running a linux bomb on windows, or visa versa) and getting interesting/humorous results and/or OS easter eggs.
needless to say i had to use a pseudonym (for my nomme de guerre) as they caught on pretty quickly usually.
-
RE: Printing Discourse
i've looked and looked and looked.
there's not a single computer in the building with a Ctrl+P key. so i followed @riking's instructions and now my computer won't boot....
-
RE: Minecraft- unrelated shenanigans
Frankly my dear; we often don't get your jokes, that function is independent of any time variable.
-
RE: So who has bothered with an auto poster?
SockAdept will be one if i ever finish him. i'll post source if i do.
-
RE: The Official Status Thread
LUCKY!
/me is jealous
actually, could we code that to be a shortcut? would be fun! @PJH to the rescue!
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
i have a webhost i could use for that...
hmm... would it be better to do my avatar or my profile background?
more people see the avatar but there's less room to play with...
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
I really should actually host them.
i just go to images.google.com and grab one that fits.
but i am le lazy.
this one is a grumpy cat obama style campaign poster that says 'NOPE" instead of 'change'
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
tried lightswitch. it's cool for a simple data entry UI with a table or two.
for anything more....
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
did that actually. also left off vc++ anv vb because [expletive deleted] them.
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
ideally yes, but then i never planned to have to use VS2008 again so i didn't install it until now when i needed to use it because upgrading the project made it go kersplody (i don't even want to know why. i just don't)
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
order of installs was same on both machines as far as i can tell.
VS2012
SQL2012
VS2008 (because some BIS projects can't be upgraded without breaking all to hell)
and the last one i'm trying:
SQL2008r2except i can't do that on the desktop. btu the laptop is okay with it.
i think i need to format the desktop soon. it's getting weird...
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
try this one on for size
i've been fighting with it so much trying to get SQL2008r2's business inteligence studio installed on a machine that has SQL2012 already installed.
every flipping time i try i get the error "the specified user already exists" I even got our domain admin (i'm local admin) to try it and he got the same thing!
i try removing the few components of sql2008 to try a from scratch..... THE UNINSTALL FAILS WITH THE SAME ERROR
so i say [expletive deleted] this! and try it on my work laptop that also has sql2012 installed, just for S&Gs
and it [expletive deleted]ing WORKS!
W.
T.
[expletive deleted]‽

RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
leave it to blakey to find a worse quality image than I did.
-
RE: Bennett Haselton
agreed.
and even though it was a bit over the top he was remarkably coherent too, a nice touch. He made some actually valid points about how the customer service experience could have been better and how the cellphone company could have saved even more money than they are now.
so yes, a big bottle of whine, but well presented and coherent.
7.5/10 would critique again.
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
among other things.
i conldn't be arsed to find a better image on google image search.
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
I don't always agree with @blakeyrat
but when i do it's about MSSQL
-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
- 3 internetz to boomzilla

-
RE: Pet Peeve: MSSQL installer
