I was there a couple of months ago (China, not the web site, obviously) and it turns out it's the way they do business also -- see someone successful, then do EXACTLY the same thing he's doing. Preferably in the exact same location as well. Any western tourist who's taken a stroll on The Bund or East Nanjing Road knows exactly what I mean.

Asus is obviously trying to prevent even the My-cupholder-has-broken-off or Where-is-the-Any-key customers from contacting support.
This is a live one:
Question:
Why will I not be able to wake the system from lan if I unplg the power cord after shut down?
Answer:
This is normal, as system will not be able to remember the lan setting of its previous state before power is unplugged. (since there is no power to allow system to remember the setting)It's kind of hard to believe that someone would even ask whether a system would "wake up" when its power cord is unplugged.

I think of the "PIN" as being the 4-digit code for bank-related things as well (which is a WTF.. only 4 numerals to access a bank account)
Well, it also requires a physical "token" (your debit card).

"Services should not be purpose built"
Evidently it doesn't matter what a web service does, as long as it's a web service!
Like most of the Flash and Java stuff you see on web sites... there so the developer can say "look, I can do Flash/Java!", all the while unwittingly exposing his inability to determine whether there's a tangible benefit to his blog having fancy flash buttons (instead of plain but quick navigation links) or a Java-powered color-shifting clock that eats up 80% of his readers' CPU cycles while the page is displayed!
(yes, I'm joking. A little.)

I agree - what if you are applying for a job as a techology director at a nudist colony?
Well then, if you show up at the interview WITH clothes you don't get the job!

RE: TDWTF WTF3,105,312
The real WTF is users posting the captcha they got. And thinking it proves anything except their ability to read.
That, and the way certain discussion end up getting completely hijacked by people who completely miss the important issues and instead must weigh in ad nauseam about how stupid people are for (for example) expecting you to show up at a job interview with clothes on.
