TL;DW When seeing a moving light in the sky that slowly moves, flares up and fades away, lately chances are high that it's a Starlink satellite. They tend to be visible after sunset and before sunrise near the horizon above the place where the Sun is, just for short time as they pass close to the Sun from your point of view. And since there is a lot of them, it's likely you'll see more than one in quick succession moving in different directions, creating an illusion of some more complex activity going on. So that's one possible explanation for the increase in UFO observations lately.
