Looking for an OpenGL ES wrapper library for Android
-
I'm going to start developing my first Kotlin Android app.
I'm looking for a slightly higher level library to wrap OpenGL ES on Android.
What I want:
- work with primitives like quads, meshes, and materials, rather than shaders and vertexes
- capable of rendering to GLSurfaceView
- hit detection (I don't mind if it involves some maths)
What I do not want:
- an engine, or anything that handles game objects, physics, render loops, etc
What would be nice, but isn't required:
- support for loading model and texture files
- camera/projection/matrix utilities
- premade shaders, especially physically-based
- back-compat support for multiple GLES versions
-
Just find an OpenGL ES wrapper. Being on Android won't affect this kind of API.

@ben_lubar The GLSurfaceView class seems to expose its own API. I wasn't sure about compatibility, so I figured full disclosure was best.

Ugh. Fucking bump.

Edit: well, the examples are ugly AF, but at least I won't have to write everything from scratch
