For the most part the boomzilification is working, except for one username:
Normal, not hovering over anything:
Hovering over the first username:
Hovering over the second username:
e: 'd further down in that same thread

@hungrier Apparently, if you mention @hungrier multiple times, the bug also appears for @hungrier.
Can confirm. It definitely appears for me.

@PleegWat Hovering over the @ mentions in your post makes my screen go crazy (bouncing up and down). But only the 1st and 2nd one in each group. The third makes the text switch as per the bug.
Also...is there a user named
mention
? Because when I wrote@-mention
it transformed it to@boomzilla
.Edit: and now the screen shaking has gone away. I must just be crazy. But I knew that already.
-
@Benjamin-Hall Yes, regarding @mention, but also the screen shaking seems to depend on your scroll position and/or neutrinos passing through you. I had it happen before, then I scrolled a bit and it stopped. Now I get a version where everything below the post shakes back and forth, but only hovering on the extra boomzilla on the second line of the post.
-
@hungrier I mean...it's CSS. Did anyone really expect deterministic behavior?
-
I love how NodeBB has lots of bugs and we can only actually witness the one where it wraps already-wrapped mentions once per year.
-
Does it work for one @boomzilla
-
-
Manual workaround:
html[data-current-month="4"][data-current-day-of-month="1"] .plugin-mentions-a:empty { display: none !important; }

@djls45 can get it consistently with mentions of short usernames, like @djls45, if the mention list wraps a line. Resizing the screen so that mentions of "@djls45" are right at the end of a line and partially wrap to a new line causes the subsequent text (and the rest of the page if the number of lines changes) to shake starting at the hovered mention. For example, the last mention in @PleegWat's post.

I'd guess it happens when you hover over it and the mouse is at a position where it's hovering over the boomzilla name but not the revealed name, making the hover status go into unstable flip-flop mode.
