@stillwater @Gurth Technically:
1st world: those opposed to the soviet union
2nd world: those allied with/puppets of the soviet union
3rd world: those in whose territory the 1st and 2nd world fought, those used as proxy combatants.TIL.
You better unlearn it now or you'll have trouble understanding people talking about international economics. The modern 1st/2nd/3rd world are synonyms for developed/developing/undeveloped countries.

@stillwater Dunno, not going to unwrap it for a couple days or more

1st world: those opposed to the soviet union
2nd world: those allied with/puppets of the soviet unionMore accurately:
1st world: aligned with USA
2nd world: aligned with USSR3rd world: those in whose territory the 1st and 2nd world fought, those used as proxy combatants.
Not quite. 3rd world: not aligned with USA or USSR. This means that Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland were third-world countries.

Heh. Sweden was never going to be aligned with the USSR; it's just that the Swedes and the Russians have their own special argument between themselves (over the Baltic) and don't feel the need to involve others.

Who gets to decide who's first world, second world et., Murica?

I'd say (being a cynical person) that your definition of 3rd world and mine are identical. Those not aligned with one side or another are merely battlegrounds, some hot and some cold.

@stillwater In this case, the phone doesn't matter, we're after the OS.
Which is, naturally, only available on this one phone.
Maybe @NeighborhoodButcher could be of some help then? I'm not caught up on the thread to know if he still works there / with it.
Nope, I've left that dumpsterfire long time ago.
@Weng you can download the OS from http://download.tizen.org/releases/
@Weng just in case you missed this post ^

@ben_lubar Oddly that doesn't include Tizen 3.

@ben_lubar oh. Maybe.
But God knows how to get anything to run that on.

Well, I suppose you could always try to load it up on virtualbox/vmware/whatever.

Actually, digging around from @NeighborhoodButcher and @ben_lubar's links it looks like there are emulator images available in various directories.

You've tricked me into actually clicking the link now, and...
WHAT THE FUCK.
edit: WHAT THE FUCK.
HOW DOES THIS EVEN.
Has the lack of a character encoding specification broken it this badly? I mean, yes, there's this...
The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.
But I don't see any characters from outside the US-ASCII range!

@anotherusername maybe samsung finally created their web server?
-
So.
We've gone to start the test...
Procured a new phone line on my cell account.
Smacked the SIM in...
No signal.
Feck.
Check out the band coverage...
Jesus Christ.
Only overlap is 2g (good thing AT&T has discontinued that) and 850mhz LTE, which is not deployed widely.
