Some people have dirty minds. And that's exposed to the public (no pun intended)!
-
@brisingraerowing Hey, ContentTweaker! I like that mod.
-
@pie_flavor My current main pack has 242 mods in it. I also have an Immersive Engineering centric pack (no other tech mods) with 198 mods.
And damn, FF has a very out of date English spell check dictionary. It is missing a good chunk of common words.
-
@brisingraerowing I've honestly gotten bored with it, because the overall game is mostly the same between packs, and really is more about which ones you've left out than which ones you've put in. I much prefer total conversion packs, and even those are usually Ex Nihilo until you get bored.
-
@pie_flavor I'm currently trying to figure out which mod causes severe lag in various 3x3 chunk areas, where any other chunk is lag free. It's seriously annoying.
-
@brisingraerowing You can install SpongeForge, and use the
/sponge timings
command to get a full report on the exact division of each tick. It's incredibly useful.
-
Quoted in case it gets lost:
@ZenMethod public static CTColor fromEpeen(String text) { int thickShaft = (int) (text.chars().filter(ch -> ch == '=').count()) * 32; int thinShaft = (int) (text.chars().filter(ch -> ch == '-').count()) * 32; int juice = (int) (text.chars().filter(ch -> ch == '~').count()) * 32; String hex = ""; hex += thickShaft == 0 ? "00" : Integer.toHexString(thickShaft); hex += thinShaft == 0 ? "00" : Integer.toHexString(thinShaft); hex += juice == 0 ? "00" : Integer.toHexString(juice); return fromHex(hex); }
-
@pie_flavor Half my mods are incompatible with sponge in one way or another (usually causing crashes).
-
@brisingraerowing Hmm. Maybe WarmRoast then?

WarmRoast
That looks interesting. I'll have to try it. I'm currently playing in a smaller Immersive Engineering centric pack, with rebalanced versions of Forestry and RFTools RFTools Dimensions as extras (I like to build with the woods Forestry adds, and RFTools is insanely useful for pretty much everything). There's also things like Tinkers' Construct, Mystical Agriculture, and a bunch of QOL / bugfix mods, like Born in a Barn, which fixes a bug that causes villages to keep chunks ghostloaded. One server admin added it and the server TPS went from around 5 to the usual of 20. He said that there were over 30000 chunks loaded by villages.

Structures... chunkload? What moron would put that in their mod?
Also, are you guys using Botania or Thaumcraft or any fun magic mods like that?
-
@pie_flavor This is a single player world and a custom modpack, and the village chunkloading thing is a vanilla bug. Basically the villager door check doesn't check if the chunk is loaded by a player, and causes it to load and stay loaded. Forge now has a fix for it in 1.12.2 as well. There's a lot of bugs like this that a recent PR to Forge fixed.
I do have Botania installed (I love that mod), along with Cyclic (a very cool magitech mod). I also use Dooglamoo Worlds, which has much more realistic terrain generation (and can easily have biomes added, and configuration for Biomes O' Plenty is available). I've never really liked Thaumcraft, and it isn't on 1.12.2 yet, anyways. I have MooFluids, though I'm still trying to figure out the best way to milk the cows (likely going to use Cyclic Player Block things [can't remember their name] for that).

@brisingraerowing Sounds like a good variety. No Astral Sorcery?
