I'm gonna play Skyrim!

I think you're expecting a lot of the Gamebryo/Creation Engine. It can't maintain the kind of steady framerates needed to prevent motion sickness in VR even on just one screen. Even on hardware 10 times more powerful than the hardware it was designed for. (And not because it's graphical engine is bad, but because its AI and scripting engines can "stall" a frame or two.)
If you're waiting on that to play Skyrim, you might have a pretty long wait.

It's more of a vague hope. It's just a game. I'd like to play it that way if it's possible, but if not, it won't upset me at all. I'm sure there will be other things I can do with the thing once I have it.

Aren't you the one who hates assumptions? Pinning things on people falsely?
Only when other people do it. For him, it's not only ok, it's standard operating procedure.

I can't find @blakeyrat in those tree pictures and I'm not upset about that.

But remember, quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur.
