Gifs like that always make me wonder: what did he THINK was going to happen?
-
Before it got to the funeral pyre stage, someone in Facilities should've been fired, unless someone in authority specifically told them to leave it.
It's funny, but it's ridiculous. Where I work, the building gets sprayed regularly, and dead roaches--usually only one or two--are not uncommon to see in the hallways on a Monday morning. But they're always gone with the first cleaning pass.

He was running so slow he has to have done it on purpose. "Oh look, that corner's off the ground--I know, I'll hit the gas!"
Unless he was drunk, I suppose. But I doubt that. Watch his head and arm until they go off-frame. That is not the action of a guy who's drunk or surprised at what's happening.
-

He was showing off his vehicle's climbing capability. It's like the creed of idiots: "Hold my beer and watch this!"
Gonna be interesting to get that thing upright. If they just try to tip it, the blocks will interfere.
-
He was showing off his vehicle's climbing capability.
That would be the most likely reason, yeah.
Gonna be interesting to get that thing upright. If they just try to tip it, the blocks will interfere.
If you hooked a winch like on a tow truck to the back of it, it would probably tip back once the wheel cleared the blocks. That would at least scratch/dent the passenger side, of course, although maybe you could do something to mitigate that. But that's what my first thought would be: drag it back or sideways from the blocks and/or try to lift it with a crane. The latter, assuming it's reasonable to do, seems like it would cause less damage.
-
That would at least scratch/dent the passenger side
Pretty sure it's already scratched and dented.
-
A .gif with 58.4 MB ? Are you emulating Ben L ?

Even more so, because it looks like it just fell over, but if you start dragging it, well, you're getting a whole new scratch/dent oppo.

Snort: oh, look, someone hacked a road sign:
Nobody ever does shit like that in Dallas. No, instead, we get a sign that says "Whatever street will be closed through the end of October" until the second or third week in November. And then, inexplicably, doesn't get updated to say that the next street up the road is now closed. Fortunately I discovered that the hard way first, by trying to go across it.

Protip: with imgur, you can go to the
.gif
url, addv
to the end, and it gives you a video file that's like a billionth of the size of the gif.Like so:

-
Aw, the onebox doesn't show the picture.
-
I learned it on the Simpsons...but what does it mean?
The five boxing wizards jump quickly.
Ahhh that Lisa.

Sure, but it's not as if it wasn't already damaged. He also doesn't have a lot of other choices, given where he decided to roll it. His best bet for minimum further damage would probably be to get a crane, or something, to move the concrete blocks out of the way, then roll it right-side-up, but that's probably not going to be cheap. He's already got expensive damage that his insurance isn't going to pay for; the incremental cost of the additional damage from trying to right it might be less than the cost of trying avoid further damage.

It didn't work as gifv which was the original version.
Protip: with imgur, you can go to the .gif url, add v to the end, and it gives you a video file that's like a billionth of the size of the gif.
Protip: I removed the
v
as Discourse wouldn't show the video at the time using that extension.

38 posts were split to a new topic: Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly...

Hey, nice one. Thanks.
-
But is it better than gfycat?
-
Like
interestingly enough, it's also WAY smoother...
-
If I'm not mistaken, that's mainly to support videos that were uploaded as videos (from a video site)... the .gif version is provided as a fallback. So yes, it's smoother and doesn't have the giffy dithered 256-color palette, because the source was a video file.
If what you uploaded was an actual .gif, then adding v to the URL just gives you a page that loads the gif:
Fucking hell, why does Discourse insist on resizing the gif to 80x37? Is 3.2 MB too big or something?
This is the gif I uploaded:
http://i.imgur.com/OOcVwqU.gif
Point being, the gifv page ultimately just loaded an
<img>
tag with the gif.

Korean Elsa toy:

How in the world did they get from Frozen to AxelF?
-
Wow... when did Twitter turn into MySpace? User's shouldn't be allowed to select their own insane color
palletspalettes.
-
For those in my diabetes insipidus group, that would be quite tempting.
-
This is one of those rare moments that I wish I registered @aliceif on Twitter ...
-
User's shouldn't be allowed to select their own insane color pallets.
Nor palettes.
Having said that, what can you say? The guy's gay and thinks he's fabulous.
-
The Prism DuroSport 6000 review. Give it a read, it's a 10 year old article but still good (and the company website still exists!).
-
That must be a joke. Even if there is a website.
-
April fools
:P
-
Yes I saw that. I think I was just looking for an angle that wasn't there, instead of applauding you for posting a 10 year old April Fools joke.
-
Well it's a good April fools joke. It fooled me until the battery part. And it's impressive they kept their fake website (mostly) working for ten years.
-
Yes, why would you bother? Though I do like the idea of nuclear battery.

Or just right-click the video and "Copy Video Location", which gives you this:

But then IE and Safari users can't play it!
...so yes, I guess it works better.

Was walking around in Destiny's Edge in GW2, and ran across a couple of NPCs talking about how you can't get authentic [some race's] cuisine these days. One reminesces about how awesome her grandma's red bean pie[1] was, and says she'd kill for a piece. No, really, she'd actually do it. The other one says "hey, I think there's a shopkeeper that has that but I have to be...somewhere else. Right now." And then she backs up a couple steps and runs away.
[1] @ben_lubar probably knows the race I CBA to remember, the actual food item, and what I got wrong in that convo.
-
Was walking around in Destiny's Edge
That's like saying "I was walking around in the Republican Presidential Candidates"
-
Anyway, I have the magical ability to look things up on the internet, so here you go:
Citizen: It’s so hard to find good Canthan cuisine anymore…
Citizen (2): What do you expect? After a hundred years without trade, it’s hard to keep things authentic.
Citizen: My grandma made great red bean cakes. I’d kill for one right now. Really. I bet you think I’m joking.
Citizen (2): I, uh, hear the commons has some. I’d show you, but I have to be… somewhere else. Now. Good day!The reason they can't get authentic cuisine is that Zhaitan murdered everyone.
-
I meant Divinity's Reach, btw.
At any rate I'm pretty sure it was on the inner ring near one of the ramps down between the outer slices. I saw last bit of the conversation twice before happening to catch the whole thing.
-
the magical ability to look things up on the internet
and more tolerance for bothering to do it than I do, so thanks, Ben Googbar!
-
I, uh, hear the commons has some. I’d show you, but I have to be… somewhere else. Now. Good day!
This is pretty funny to hear and watch, if someone hasn't already.
-

OH SNAP!
I... guess?

See, there's a whole bunch of Republican Presidential candidates right now, and Destiny's Reach is pretty big, and there's a lot of chatty NPCs.
-
-
Destiny's Reach is pretty big
Destiny's Edge is like six people. You said you were walking around in six people.

Well, I meant Destiny's Reach. Also, until recently there were like 16 Republican candidates, not 6, so feel free to flag.
