Poll: Which is the worst website with the most traffic?
-
If you could burn a site with fire and eat all the offspring which one would it be?
-
Bing.com (its a fake yahoo, with a giant banner ad)
-
Yahoo Search (because falling into yahoo serach can be a barrier to reading)
-
Wikipedia (the balding annual donation drive guy wearing the pressed shirt looking like he wants to kiss you is, well, pretty gay)
-
MySpace (no explanation needed)
-
Facebook (hijacked timelines are like social engineering and they make too many changes that still suck)
-
Ask.com (holy shit this is still alive and I never used it once (knowingly))
-
eBay (i just wanted to sell my camera and eBay took half my money, paypal took the other and shipping came out of my own pocket)
-
Craigslist (because there are never enough best of craigslist stories to keep the momentum)
-
XVidieos (what's this?)
-
reddit (I feel like I twelve when i surf that site, get bored, then go over to kizi.com and play some Sushi Cat 2)
-
Adobe.com (their products are pricey and their forums and docs are super suck ass).
-
godaddy (this is the biggest upsale-add-attempter, confusing-ist piece of crap ever)
-
buzzfeed (click bait whore website sold their soul to the click bait devil)
-
theoatmeal.com (hey screw you pal Matthew Inman is a goddamn hero to the common man and cats too)
-
-
This bullshit that I have to deal with when I just want to download goddamn Chrome or test something in goddamn IE:
http://uk.msn.com/?ocid=OIE9HP
A default web page that takes ages to load and seems to steal focus randomly. I would much rather have bing.com appear by default.
The problem is, I use IE so infrequently that I don't generally bother to change that default home page.
-
HAHAHA! MSN is a bowel movement.
-
WEBSITE_NOT_FOUND
-
I had to capture this for posterity. Who in the name of all that is holy decided this was an acceptable default page?
And that doesn't demonstrate the animation and flashing...
-
Uh... You don't get it...I am social engineering you. you pick what I give you, got it?
-
I don't get it.
-
WEBSITE_NOT_FOUND
Well I can lead the socially engineered to water but I can't make them drink...Fine...I will accept your answer
I don't get it.

Me too, but if I say mean things about Discourse, people like me more. (Don't tell anyone, it's a secret).
-
You know, I think Yahoo Search's interface is actually better than Bing's. At least it felt faster when I tried it on my tablet.
-
Really? Doing anything on yahoo scares me. They are whores to the darkside of giving your info, sexual preference, height, weight, and number children to ANYONE who wants it.
And the news sections (if you want to call it that) is a trolls wet dream.
Filed under: if it is election season avoid anything that allows message discussions on yahoo.

Sure, but yahoo answers are the best.

Another very reliable source of good information. I am often asking many questions here.

Pftt, well except this of course. I mean if I have an inverted nipple or my period hasn't come and its been 3 weeks then this is the first place I go to see what others do.

Well, that certainly explains your grasp of English.
And I just mistyped that as Neglish... Nagesh... English... Neglish...

Clearly, this website is the worst of the worst.

I am seeing you are also starting to put ™ just like Nagesh. Now you're adding some more silly++ cymbals to prevent people from making realization that you're merrily copying me.

Discourse is slick like you might fall and hurt yourself slick so you better be careful.
Or maybe that's just Markdown.

Markdown is weird and I am markdown stupid...Trying to be better though.

Why didn't that quote translate some of the bbcode out the way it does with HTML? It ignores invalid HTML and lets it slide into the markup anyway, it should do the same with invalid bbcode (be all invisible and everything)

I wanted to just quote my RTFY from above. But Discourse ate my HTML tags.
I know this doesn't sound like an answer. But I think it is.

An ironic example of what makes DC not so slick smacks me right in the face while I try to make a joke about DC's slickness.
-
Quote jokes aren't enough for you, you flaming POS?
Hey, throw us a FTFY, at least. Or a fake tag is always good, too.
-
I used a <s> tag to make the fix obvious.
If I have to explain that there's a joke, the joke sucks too much to be made.

Hey, throw us a FTFY, at least. Or a fake tag is always good, too.Feature Request: Instead of telling us our post has no content when it is just a quote, remind us to use FTFY or at least add a fake tag.
We can call it the Home Sweet TDWTF Plugin.
-
Or how about not trying to police us in the first place?
There have been times I have been on forums and simply quoted (or in some cases re-quoted) previous posts, including mine, because they cover everything that's relevant at the time and the previous poster was too lazy to read back a few posts (or maybe a page) in the thread.
-
I had a serious WTF moment when I read that... I was like: "This guy doesn't like me...What do I say."
But I see what you did there.
-
Yes, it forcing me to add content to my post made it look more like I had actually quoted real things you said rather than making a joke out of your post. Because the content Discourse forced me to add distracted from the content I wanted the user to read in the first place.
Discourse is a barrier to reading
-
the previous poster was too lazy to read back a few posts (or maybe a page) in the thread.
Clearly that problem was solved, THERE ARE NO PAGES!
-
Right, its just one page which is bootstrap node.js type stuff. I am not sure exactly under the hood but I have heard it mentioned that there is more Javascript than Ruby in Discourse. But maybe a real Discourse dev can chime in. @sam or @codinghorror
-
Here they'd still be that lazy since scrolling back up 20-30 posts takes as much effort as it does to go back a page and scroll down it. In fact, it probably takes more effort to infiniscroll it. At least, I hope that's @codinghorror's excuse for not reading threads to the end before replying.
-
I, uh, don't know how to tell you this.... but, uh... oh nevermind.
WTF
Why does my not show up for camels, it's goddamn autocompleting it and then not showing the camel?? FJEIOPFJasklf oh, because it can't be the first thing on a line apparently.
Oh, but it works if there is an empty line before the camel... what in the name of...
-
@darkmatter is clearly the next person to wear the clever hat.
@codinghorror, @sam, another bug for you.
-
Note to self, <big> does not work as a sarcasm tag here.
-
Really? I hadn't noticed!

Why is everyone yelling!

I'm not yelling! I'm just making sure you hear me over the vast distance that is the Atlantic ocean!

is usually sufficient to elude that particular bit of brokenness. (And the ALL CAPS test.) Which has been pointed out before. And was implicitly marked WONTFIX.

Only implicitly?
