I was testing some AI I wrote. I gave one of the marines a shotgun. Can you guess which one?
Also, marines have 100 health, so I'm still not sure how he dealt 780 damage to his 7 other squaddies.

Perhaps he had only 20 health himself at the end? Ricocheted bullets?
-
He obviously shot himself in the foot on purpose so he could get out of that madness.

Do they regenerate health? That would explain it. Saw that kind of stuff back in EVE online all the time.

Having a politician in charge of your country's economy and treasury who doesn't know his seven or eight times tables.
George Osborne refused to answer a simple times table as a panel of children quizzed him on his maths skills, music tastes and how he spent his pocket money.
Asked to give the answer to 7x8 by Samuel Raddings, aged 7 from Manchester, one of the panel’s youngest interviewers, the Chancellor said he made it a “rule in life not to answer a load of maths questions.

Cropping a thread's title unnecessarily.
For comparison:

Discurse just hates the word
thread
. It should betopic
, so, since the author is clearly doing it wrong, it decided to protect other users from such foul language.

I can't even imagine what would happen if you tried to use the word
pagination
in a topic title.
Fair warning: @codinghorror, don't click that spoiler!
-
And to make sure that the cropped title is not to long it removes the username ...
Is there a reason the user name is dissapearing within a topic?
But then pushes to pushpin icon to the next row

Well, so much for that idea!

What in Belgiums name are you using such words for! This is a public forum! The kids are watching!

What? There's more than one???
Per history of the universe there are three separate beligums.
French Belgium and dutch Belgium and German Belgium?

This is escalation into a skit on FaWlty Towers. No talk about the war

But I think I got away with it

A classic bit, but you're wrong.

Cropping a thread's title unnecessarily.
My connection is being an ass atm, I managed to catch this:
Yes, that should be "Loading topic"
-
@PJH upgrade the forum, I made a fancy new error page, with a Try Again button
Everyone else: I recommend unplugging your internet at least once to see it, once it's in
-
Or if you're lazy, here's a screenshot:
-
Here's the other half:
-
You could simplify this a lot with ':('
and a button that says 'Do something else' that leads to a cornify page.
-
Is it only me that sees the pseudo WTF here? It's tantamount to pressing F1 on a keyboard problem.
-
Well, the idea is that you go fix the connection, then press Try Again.
And it works.
Now, the strange part is that you will only see a loading spinner if it didn't work right away....

Don't say you weren't warned

I changed something in my code and now shotguns have infinite ammo and infinite shots per second. Still not sure what I did to cause that, but looking at a door and left clicking is about the equivalent of an atomic bomb.

Trying to make a post with several thousand characters.
It will freeze your input area, and discourse super saves your post so that it can't be posted, and can't be removed even if you switch computers, clear cache/cookies/form input, log out, etc.
That topic will be dead to you forever, but you'll still get notifications flagging in that topic.

@codinghorror incorrectly changed the title to indicate it has to consist of . characters.
-
Aha, another case of not reading properly and just changing it anyway?
-
Well, he's not wrong. Large posts that contain a lot of '.' DO break preview.
But so does a lot of things.

Not grooming your dog well enough
I don't see a dog, but I do see the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And a green thing. Several green things, actually.

<img src="/uploads/default/3462/5e099e500c18c724.jpg" width="375" height="500">
Did Discourse crop that image with the width and height swapped or something?
-
Its a bug, we should be taking orientation details from the image cc @zogstrip
-
Also I'm pretty sure this was a bad idea...
Only if you try to take that seriously. If you take it as an intentionally self-deprecating corny video, it's expertly executed. Not grooming your dog well enough
Is that @hungrier?

If it's the preview logic that's doing the hanging, try using the mobile view to remove/delete it.

@PJH I fixed that issue and deployed a fix here :)

Posting something like this. On here.
How common is it to have posts over 32k? How many do we have here, or anywhere else, that even approach that size? Is this urgent?
max_post_length is currently set to the default of 32,000....
