Find the WTF

  • Just saw a tv commercial for knee implants advertizing http://rediscoveryourgo.com/ but that website appears blank in Firefox and Chrome.  IE works perfectly of course.

  • Winner of the 2016 Presidential Election

It looks OK in Mobile Safari.

I don't know what Chrome you have but mine shows the website. TRWTF IS YOU!

What else is new. Turns out the problem is caused by HTTPS Everywhere.

So you are one of those people who wants to make sure that nobody will snoop on their HTTP traffic while they browse public websites selling hip and knees implants. As a wise person once said earlier in this thread, TRWTF is you.

  • Which is ironic, because I can see why people would not want that their insurances or employer take the information "visit hip and knees implants site" as "will soon need one". Of course, it's not https which will help with that.

I have this theory that if you have to worry about your insurance or employer knowing that you are on the prowl for a knee replacement, you have bigger problems than having to worry about your insurance or employer knowing that you are on the prowl for a knee replacement. It's one of those subtle indicators that you are in a suboptimal situation, like finding half a worm in an apple you are eating or waking up after a wild night and noticing a "welcome to the club" message written with lipstick on the bathroom mirror.

You know what's worse than finding half of a worm in an apple you're eating?

Finding a third of a worm in an apple you're eating.

You know what is worse than finding a third of a worm in an apple you're eating? Finding a turd of a worm in an apple you're eating. (Third of a razor blade would also be an acceptable answer but less funny).

    WTF#1 - The OP

WTF #2 - @The HTTPS Everywhere Website said:

HTTPS Everywhere is produced as a collaboration between The Tor Project and the Electronic Frontier Foundation

    WTF# 3 - @The HTTPS Everywhere Website said:

The HTTPS Everywhere extension fixes these problems by using a clever technology to rewrite requests to these sites to HTTPS.

Not clever enough, it would seem. Though still more clever than the OP.

  • The real WTF is that they have nbsp characters in their "vertical spacer" divs. These aren't tables goofballs, they won't collapse if they're empty and margins make for excellent "spacers".

    Top tip!

    Working fine in FF25 here.
