  • I just got a short email (in reply to my own status update) that, considering the deadline-missing circumstances, could be seen as very blunt and dismissive and inconsiderate of my person and my time.

    Except when I looked at it again ten minutes later, I read it as a quick, kind and lenient request with a hint of uncertainty about what I would want to do.

    Tricky business, that email stuff. It's really easy to be ticked off when the sender's actually being very objective and clear.
