ChromeSelfie?
-
I hope this is some April's fool joke from the Chrome team
-
And I'm looking at what, exactly?
-
That's a selfie camera inside Chrome to "Share a reaction"
#ChromeSelfie
-
So… it's a prank that takes over half your screen, rendering the browser useless?
-
Why is it pointed at a TV? Is it using the front camera by accident? Did you hit a button to make that panel come up, or did it just kind of pop-up?
... this is more confusing than prank-ing.
-
I'm watching TV in a dark room so it was the only source of light... Why do you get stuck on trivialities?
Chrome is asking me for selfies
-
I'm trying to figure out exactly what's going on, I'm not "stuck on trivialities".
Chrome's asking you for selfies? So it popped-up like a messagebox? Or what? As a result of you doing what? Nothing? What happens to the selfies, do they get sent to the site owner or some kind of marketing page?
I'm so confused.

I'm assuming it is, but... it's kind of a lame joke. I mean, there's no punchline, it just takes a picture of you.
-
I don't see any request for selfies in that screenshot. I'm confused as to how you got to that screen, what language was used to get you there, or what it represents. Or which camera it was using.
-
Yep, it opened a dialog (bright orange) and the this dialog with a camera pointing at my face.
Also, there's a new menu option "Share a reaction".
And yes, is pretty lame for a joke.
-
Who does it share it with?
-
Good question...
Standard sharing menu after that button
And now that I see the time, in a few hours you'll get it over there at the US.
-
Are you sure it's even a joke?
EDIT: and I still don't get why you're turning the phone 180 degrees to a TV. You really that ugly?
-
Yes... And again, it's dark so I can't see anything but the TV
-
I think they actually expect people to post "funny reactions" to websites on their twitters and facebooks as an April Fools thing.
-
Yes... And again, it's dark so I can't see anything but the TV
Ok, call me crazy, but if the TV has electricity, why doesn't your light bulb?
-
-
If I turn the lights on I'll wake up the mini-pig sleeping with my wife on the couch. See? Trivialities.
Just for reference
-
Ok, call me crazy, but if the TV has electricity, why doesn't your light bulb?
OK, call me crazy, but maybe the switch in in the OFF position?Edit: Technically, 'd

Wow, learning WAY too much about your home life here.
Adam Lawrence (coggy9) is the world's biggest dick. Look at his my little pony avatar too, it's the retarded pony. He's probably one of those assholes who got upset when the show makers said it was just an animation error, because he likes to make fun of the retarded. I bet he was one of those assholes who got upset when Bethesda said you wouldn't be able to murder children in Fallout 3. Worst of all: he uses Google+. I KNOW THE TYPE.
EDIT: oh and he collects Amiibos.
-
Yep, looks retarded.
-
Eh. I prefer Google PacMaps.
-
Full steps, for me at least:
Opened Chrome for the first time today, opens to last page with this, additionally, at the bottom:
Clicking that produces:
(That's the camera on the front, with it looking at the ceiling). Clicking the Orange icon:
Clicking share:

Thank god i have a windows phone. Would not like a browser which 'pops up' to suggest a selfie ... "This is my reaction as I throw the phone against a wall"
-
That's some subtle publicity you got there... now I'm intrigued on what kodi is.
-
It's what used to be called XBMC. Media Centre software.
-
You could just install Firefox.

There's nothing obvious about that to me, but it may be that I'm so distracted by you trespassing on my lawn. If I saw this, I'd have guessed that you had some embedded video player there or something, because that looks like a video (which since it's pointed at a tv in a dark room, it is).
-
because that looks like a video (which since it's pointed at a tv in a dark room, it is).
Would be better with a wooden table.
-
I saw this on my phone this morning. I dismissed it without half a thought. I didn't even realize it was supposed to be for April Fools.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, GOOGLE.

Perhaps the joke is that it's using the back camera, not the front one?
INB4 "that's the joke". I was explaining it for Cranky Old Man Blakey.
