How to end the billion $$ industry run by bastards ellison, mcNealy, chairman Gates - or how to end the hell of software

  • I remember the time when GUI was simple like PCTools, Norton Commander, Turbo Pascal 3.1 or Matlab. To build a software you needed to know 1 or two 'technology'. Since then the software upheaval has resulted in overblown total shits of lotus notes, oracle app servers, sap's netweaver, bpel4ws, ejb, j2ee, hacked html family of xml, ajax, ... and a lots more that have nothing to do with logic, applied computer science or math.

    To build a simple software such  *hello world nowadays, you need to know OOA/D, design patterns, XML API, web services, Hibernate, JDO, CocoBase, JDBC, JAXM, JDNI, JMS, JCA, JUnit, Swing, Struit, EJB, EDoclet, XSD, XSLT, RUP, Class loader... (or .Net equivalent).

    And your Hello World must survice the attachs from 1,000,000+ virus/adware/worm.

    I'm thinking on writing OS binary level virus that directly build into the kernal of operating system, drivers, JVM and the likes so that my dear virus will take control of the entire system that no anti virus software can touch it and anyone want to kill it, he also kills the entire system
    What do you think?

    I think that, quite possibly, you're on crack

    Crack's effects are primarily emotional in nature, while this guy is actively delusional - LSD is far more likely.

    Maybe we should report this poster to some form of autority, this guy seems as if he's gonna go postal ;)

    Hey, Acid doesn't make you mean-spirited. That guy's got a crystal meth vibe, or maybe he's 14 years old.

  • class HelloWorld
    {
    static void Main () {
    System.Console.Write("Hello Crackhead!");
    }
    }

  • Ahhh, the good ole' vacuum tube is still unbeatable.
    Or.. is it?

    Only when you deal with buzzword-infected management, such as the people who bought us out. They created a CDK in Java and want us to use it. I staged a silent rebellion. Our rogue faction now does whatever it wants and management won't know until it's too late. Pretty soon they won't have an Engineering department if they keep up the buzzword attack.

    Who says so? My job isn't security. That's what firewalls, user controls and such are for.

    I'm thinking on writing OS binary level virus

    Why do you think XP auto-restores protected files and Vista has armor around its kernel? From crap like that!

    Agreed. My brother is a meth-head and he's mean, vindictive and getting dumber every day.

  • And in the simpler times you're mis-remembering, your programs couldn't support millions of users, multiple languages, or even run concurrently with other programs.  That's not to say that JDO, Struts, XSLT or EJBs are defensible, but why am I even responding to someone who can't form coherent sentences?  If you want to go back to a world of DOS terminals, build a time machine.  MS-DOS was never cool... a distinction Disco can't even manage.
