By the power of Grayskull! I have TRWTF!

WAIT WHAT.
The zodiac signs on emojione are all green ...
-
What, you are holding your breath for astrology to make sense? Awesome. XD
-
So yes, discourse fucked the colours. Made the air signs green and the earth signs yellow.
That's not exclusive to discurse, though. Lots of things change air when treating it as an alchemical element. That way you get four colors and if you see something that's elementally-themed you know which element right off.
Compare that to the scene at the end of The Fifth Element, where you had to guess which element was what by which direction wavy lines went.

WAIT WHAT.
The zodiac signs are tied to elements ...
-
that was a cute scene ;)

The "What's Your Sign?" thread is -- oh wait, it's not there yet. Never mind.
-
BAD IDEAS? Science? Feudalism?
-
Astrology predates feudalism by at least 1000 years, but that's not the sort of thing we're pedantic about here, so let's allow it.
-
pedantic, this community? NEVAH.
-
-
You're stealing my words again. This is sub-ideal.
-
I believe pendantry was a thing here before you mentioned it, dear.
But I am sure I will hear about this later?
-

Maybe it contributed to feudalism's development? Or its modern incarnation?
Hmm...seems appropriate enough for the @ScotusBlog thread, because astrology is probably as good for predicting what those guys will do as anything else.
-
-
why does PDA scare you so much? Does nobody wuv you?
-
It doesn't. I'm just having fun with "the x thread is that way" meme. Hence the goofy icons I chose--they were basically random and not intended to have any meaning.
-
Aaah, let's sail away together my gem of much sunniness.
-
Maybe it contributed to feudalism's development?
Quite possibly. I've heard that Chaucer makes references to astrological terms, which implies that the general public (or at least those who could read) would have been familiar with them. Bear in mind, though, that astrology back then was a lot different from astrology as most people know it today. For example, the astrology books I've read that were written before 1900 hardly mention sun signs at all, but give a lot of importance to what is called the ascendant.
There's also the fact that the seasons, which is what the Zodiac signs are based on in Western astrology (as opposed to Vedic), were of crucial importance back then when even a king couldn't get fresh strawberries in the middle of winter, and if you didn't store enough food in the summer and fall, you didn't survive the winter.
I'm sure that's a lot more than you ever wanted to know about astrology, so I'll stop now.

Or at least take it a more appropriate thread. Sheesh.

In a thread entitled 'by the power of Grayskull', who is to say what is appropriate? Other than @royal_poet, that is.

Ask @antiquarian, he's the one who started trying to point out a more appropriate topic.

So, more flagging for pendantry required?
-

Would a Spanish Inquisition joke be out of line here?
-
Or at least take it a more appropriate thread. Sheesh.
The more appropriate thread is way.
-
Would a Spanish Inquisition joke be out of line here?
How would you know?
Yes, I know, I know, the 'all posts are questions' thread is that way.
-
-
better?
-
Just edit the title to something like,
By the power of grayskull, Zodiac unleash!
-
Wasn't his name Zodac? XD
-
Yeah, but we're talking about Zodiac so
.
-
-
She-Ra's enemy Hordac was so evil that during the Christmas Special she had to enlist Skeletor's help to defeat him.

Read 1/4 of the posts here, like 20 posts or something every so often, receive 20 or so likes every so often? And be here 50 out of the last 100 days.
Done, done, done and done. No joy.
-
hmmm... maybe you haven't?
If you ask nicely @pjh might tell you what you are missing for TL3

I have the 50% attendance badge already, I've liked 1000's of posts (oh wait, the likes thread doesn't count); well, I've liked dozens of posts outside the likes thread and have 2 mediocre poster badges as of this writing...so perhaps I didn't quite get to 1/4 posts read yet? (That's a LOT of posts considering how fast the likes thread grows daily on its own...).
Not that 1/4 posts read is logical - buttuming DissedCourse is still the forum software 10 years from now (as claimed longevity), what hope do new members joining in 2024 have of ever getting to regular without a bot?
Ah, I see the problem now...I'm applying logic here...my mistake...
Adding a like to your last post just in case ;-)
-
what hope do new members joining in 2024 have of ever getting to regular without a bot?
Have we mentioned that we're writing one of those?

A lot of the "must read" stuff is a part of the last 100 days. The likes have to be spread out to / from different users. Or something. It's a little convoluted:

...must have viewed 25% of posts created in the last 100 days...
Ok, never mind. Not going to happen. Not only do I work for a living, but quite often it's lots of unpaid overtime.

There are
tricksDiscoursistent methods to handle this.
-
I see you have the same reaction I had. All the rest seems doable, but the post requirement is just crazy.
-
Oh, you don't have to read them, just scroll past them.

I was in secretive pursuit of a printer bug, when summoned by the power of the eleven rings. And as Confucius says: if you don't change direction, you will end up where you are heading.

too lazy to write a bot for it

download mine and add your user credentials. all it depends on in nodejs, request, and async

I managed without a bot. It's not THAT hard.
I don't even go into the likes thread.
