@pjh does crashing IE / FF browsers with my profile content count for HTML badge?!

he got banned from meta.d for a month for it, if that counts as evidence ;)

Worked for me in 64-bit FF 32.0 on Linux. It froze for a little while while it was loading. FF stabilized at about 560MB of RAM.

welcome to the exclusive trifecta of bugs club?
-
Now if only you could select which ones displayed on your card...
-
No idea what the order logic is for picking 3 to display, it appears to just be random. At least CSS & XSS appear to be high priority because they both show for both of us.
Now to test a thing that happens and see.

So, I missed this. What were you doing to poison your profile page?

he put a billion img tags pointing to huge gifs/images that would overload your browser's memory usage.
-
A billion is too nice, it was only 32k lines, which amounted to about 200k characters, and it was only one image that kept getting referenced.
-
that would overload your browser's memory usage
So, basically the same thing Discourse does on it's own, except more at once than over time.
Filed under: Current memory usage by the Discourse tab, according to Chrome's Task Manager: 812MB

I guess Jeff will respond by limiting to 10 images per post? Like the limit of 10 @mentions per post? Or perhaps there already is one, and the gotcha was that this restriction was not applied to profiles?
-
It wasn't applied to posts, either. That's what got @Matches suspended over on meta.d.
-
Let's not limit profile size or the number of embedded objects or embedded file size. What could possibly go wrong?
-
It's cool - they limited @mentions - because those are the things people could cause more issues with.
-
Or likes.
-
Or deletes/undeletes.
-
Or edits.
-
Edit limit is to prevent ninja mention bomb on the world. You can only mention bomb
Mention# * edit# people!
Plus whatever ninja edits you get in.

That can't be the case, because I clearly remember Atwood saying everything is rate-limited in Discourse.
-
If only Atwood's crazy ideas were rate-limited.
