    No he didn't. He just said he'd walked past M'aiq a hundred times. You could easily do that in Morrowind or Oblivion before having touched Skyrim.

    O RLY?

    What the fuck is it with people on this forum and being unable to read.

    At the risk of being your 4th grade schoolmarm, in the context in which Ben made the statement we're discussing, there was no mention of Skyrim. He mentioned it in an entirely different post hours beforehand, but that context doesn't apply beyond the post it was established in.

    His excuse for not recognising mikeTheLiar's username sooner was that he just got Skyrim as a christmas present (2013). If he'd walked past M'aiq a hundred times before he got Skyrim, that excuse would not explain why he didn't recognise mikeTheLiar's username sooner.

    Reading is easy. Understanding context is difficult...

    Where did you read that? Wasn't on this forum.

    Someone called "mikeTheLiar". Nice work, Chief.

    He's named after an Elder Scrolls character who only tells the truth! M'aiq says so himself. M'aiq knows much and tells some!

    Mike knows many things others do not.

    Holy shit. I've walked past that kahjiit at least a hundred times but I never drew the connection.

    Wow. I always knew you were thick, but not that thick. Or is my username really that hard to get?

    I got Skyrim as a christmas present (2013) from one of my friends who found out I hadn't played it.

    Right; I read that post.

    The part I'm looking for is where Ben L offers that as an excuse for not making the link between the game character and your username. Because it's not in the text. Which means it could only be an implication. Which means you made it up in your tiny skull, then claimed Ben L said it.

    Fine. Whatever dude. You win. That was clearly an unreasonable thing to take away from that series of posts. If only I had two brain cells to rub together. Can we stop now?

    It's up to you. I'm not the one who had the problem in the first place.

    @mikeTheLiar said:
    M'aiq's mythos is that you can't trust anything that he says. A small part of it is true, most of it is nonsense, and the rest is meta-commentary.
    @blakeyrat said:
    Are you saying I might have said something not technically true to... I dunno... make a "joke" of some kind?

    TRWTF: Thinking that the name "mikeTheLiar" used in this forum is somehow OBVIOUSLY taken from a charcater named "M'aiq" in a game and it's IMPOSSIBLE that someone didn't make such an OBVIOUS connection.@Ben L. said:

    @mikeTheLiar said:
    Bullshit again. I find it hard to believe you've walked past him a hundred times in the last week.
    @dkf said:
    You should be aware that M'aiq is a recurring minor character that has appeared in preceding games in the series.
    @mikeTheLiar said:
    I am aware of this fact*. However Ben L. specifically referenced Skyrim.
    @blakeyrat said:
    No he didn't. He just said he'd walked past M'aiq a hundred times.

    We've seen how blakeyrat hates text interfaces, perhaps it would be better if we presented everything using pictures.
