Basically, he's saying that by starting the Y-axis from 8 instead of 0, it makes a moderate 20% dip in stock price appear to be an almost catastrophic loss in value.

If the price never went below 8 then it's perfectly reasonable to start the Y Axis at 8 instead of zero, if nothing else, just to make the graph smaller. @Snooder said:
