FF7 remake shenanigans? Did not expect fanboi so hard.

All we wanted was some modern graphics slapped onto FF7 for the longest time. I guess that wouldn't sell enough, so we have an equivalent of 'The Hobbit' movies, where we'll just make shit up and slap it all over so we can sell multiple games.
Now, remember that optional character in the original game? Looks like it's now a DLC.
I'm done. FF is dead to me as a series for now.

Congrats for staying with them for this long.
It reminds me of when I quit the Dune series in utter disgust on book 15.

I haven't played anything past 13, other than 14 for a few weeks.

If I had bought original FF7, but was only given the first disk and told the next disk would come out in a few years, but oh wait, here's a disk that adds-on to the first disk, I would be like "Why are you working on this?"
Never try to read A Song of Ice and Fire (the series that begins with A Game of Thrones).

You should have stuck with it, there's xenosymbiotic apotheosis at the end.
-
@Gribnit The last straw for me was when they started retconning things from the first book, using some flimsy excuse about Princess Irulan intentionally recording misinformation.

I remember it as being better than the series that starts with The Sword of Truth. I don't often hurl books across the room in disgust.

I didn't say it was bad, but I've been waiting on book six for almost a decade now, while side-stories keep emerging.

I recommend The Executioner Trilogy. Warning, it's not Martin, it's a competent writer.

Give up. You know he's going to die and then Brandon Sanderson will get to ruin another fantasy series.

He actually did a good job considering how much skirt-straightening and braid-pulling he had to go through.
Mat's "escape" with the circus must've been the slowest escape ever. I don't even remember if they actually got anywhere.
But if we're talking about non-existant sequels: Kingkiller Chronicles. I mean, Rothfuss even did an online vote a while back where he let people vote on what he should stream: Him writing a chaper of his next book or him playing some game. And then he was upset that the vote fell overwhelmingly on the book. Plus, his editor publicly stated that she's pretty sure he did not write a single page for years now.

He's too literary for his own good. Writers that want to earn serious amounts of money have one key thing in common: they put on their big boy/girl pants and actually knuckle down to writing instead of fucking around doing other random shit.

Sometimes I randomly think to myself "wouldn't it be great if they ever made a C&C Red Alert 3?"
Then I remember they did, and it was terrible. Then I remember they even made a Command & Conquer 4, which I've played for a solid 10 minutes after hours of torrenting it before deleting it in disgust.

If it was a book it'd belong into the "burn before reading" category.

Wow. Now I have to know: what's so bad about it? Does it lean heavily upon a horrible AI? Awful scripts? No unit balance? AI gets huge bonuses that crush you into the ground? Just plain bland? Everything takes too long?
-
@PotatoEngineer It's -- to this day -- got SecuROM turned up to the most annoying level possible (Spore had 30 days of grace, this has zero and something like 25% perf overhead). Unlocks are deeply tied to multiplayer experience, and although multiplayer isn't dead dead, there haven't been actual games played in over 5 years. There is a short campaign mode, which supposedly can be completed as a single player, but scripting bugs make that unlikely at best: a co-op player is practically required to avoid getting stuck. Resource gathering is no longer done by dedicated units collecting Tiberium, but instead by occupying control point structures.
Oh, and "yes" to every question you asked, too.
-
@TwelveBaud and if I remember correctly (hopefully I don't because I don't want to), your "base" moves around.

Yes. And you've got a hard unit limit.

Yes to both. Oh, also, forgot. Here's a plot summary of the story:
We've driven off the Scrin (i.e. no third faction), but planet's still fucked. Humanity is doomed to be entombed in Tiberium within the next 50 years. We're fighting to see who dies to it last. Godspeed, Mr. Saturn.
