Oh, and Mister Tech Support assured me that a reinstall would fix this, and it didn't. Boy has it been a fun day unfucking that.

You know what works perfectly? Running the application exe directly.
I also checked the Event Viewer, but I was only able to find boring stuff there.

That usually indicates AccessDenied, IIRC. Is your user account an Administrator or standard user? Did you happen to change any UAC settings?

@e4tmyl33t I did not. In fact I added more execute permissions to the folder and executable just in case.
