  • Poison PILL of Knowledge Sharing Neutralized with SSDS

Word powerpoint excel email and many more data types resist sharing. Baaad formats Begone!! With a few simple steps
those persistent Data sharing = Inhibiting No-Good-Nicks can be cured once and for ALL.

Do screen captures to JPG For everything you need to know and want to keep. And catalogue it with SSDS for keeps.

Export all your emails to text files. Keeping them forever.

Do Videos and catalogue those for quick access. Without video all that FREE disk space would be wasted..

Dump the formats that others don't have and settle on the less restrictive data types. You're just pissing people off if they can't open any of your shared data without Buying $$ some software. How rude.

Keep plain text over formated text. Letters seldom get sent twice. If they are sooo pretty then do a screen capture to jpg and blow the original away. By having the picture of the screen along with source code in a plain text file. You got it. It's yours in these formats. Not some software group pressuring you to buy their next version OR Else.

There is a lot going on up here about transparency in Governance. Ie their budget for Members of parliament and those cronies that are in the Senate is $500,000,000+ for just over 300 members. The people want to see these items in detail. No exceptions or excuses or cover ups.

They don't have their data available and cataloged like SSDS. They can't be transparent. No one has been more transparent in business details than me (maybe too transparent). I Shared data as plain text format and did thousands of screen captures for others to make use of. And I keep my own copies as well. Don't leave those great flowcharts and interesting emails behind ever again. It's easy. WHY does Swampie do all this? Because Spectate Swamp is Lazy! SSDS makes it Easy to be Lazy with your computer data responsibilities.

Move your restrictive data to a more useful mediums. Share it with ease. If you have nothing to hide. You may just get elected on your honesty and openness. With SSDS you can be a winner!!!

Bust those barriers to transparency and sharing with SSDS. It's all easy with SSDS. Swamp Search is the greatest. Yeah!

Not when one chooses to use open formats, like ODF, or at least use an easily-readable format like PDF (which, by the way, keeps the structure of the original document).

     @SpectateSwamp said:

I'd rather catalog my images using a tool designed for the purpose (like, digiKam - which I use for managing my photography - or Picasa).

     @SpectateSwamp said:

Why would I? Even if Thunderbird (my current e-mail client) was suddenly discontinued,  migrating to another one would be quite simple.

Why would I keep plain text over formatted text? Letters don't get sent twice. Articles, documentation and research papers do get read many times. But if ALL that you do on your PC is write letters...

Also, it seems strange that for someone that enjoys "transparency" and "openness", you know nothing about open formats.

YESSIR! So let's tighten up the lasso here.  The following topics have all been recently netted:  simple, common formats (plaintext and JPG); SSRR; political transparency.  Alright then, let's make a sentence using all these topics.  Obama's transparent (i.e., invisible) afro blocks alien mind control rays that could otherwise be detected by using SSRR to zoom in on JPG artifacts.
I like this topic.  Do you think SSRR can be used to see Obama's transparent afro?  Does my afro affect your brain washing technique?  Do you believe in your day-to-day life that people who ignore you have succumbed to your rambling?  Do you use other brainwashing techniques in the SwampShack?

If government forms were in plaintext or JPG instead of PDFs, would you think they would be more transparent?

Did you know that JPG is a patent-encumbered format?

Regarding governmental transparency, what do you think would happen if one day your local government decided that SSRR was the way to go and mandated its use on all publicly funded computers?  I'm serious, how does that fantasy play out in your mind?

Kill your computer is the NEW SSDS slow motion option.

I have a couple "different" video groups set to play in slow motion. You know - for those Faster than Sight shoots. They play fine EXCEPT when run from a DVD (CD's are too damn expensive - Thanks! Skinny Ass Musicians Data group)

My laptop will play a few of these clips then completely freeze up. The power off button is all that will stop it. Test it out now!!! See if SSDS will freeze your computer? Stop those nasty viruses and indexers in their tracks.

The same playback runs fine from a USB Stick or my C drive. Slow motion becomes no motion on a DVD Why? YUP You have all been hanging on to my every word, making sure I don't repeat myself. And none of you have ever tried slow motion on a DVD?

  • Oh, I get it. Freezing, hanging, and crashing your computer isn't a bug.  IT'S A FEATURE.  Naturally.

Do you fear that you've been compromised by a botnet and want to reboot Windows?  This can be done!  Simply install SSRR, insert a DVD with some mpg files, then jam prompt gf SloMo super RandomRandom faster-than-sight, then press and hold the power button on your computer.

Other RandomRandom search can't compete!  They don't even WANT your computer to freeze.  Micro$oft and G$$gle are paid off by the Russian botnet mafia to remove the CrashComputer feature from their search engines.

It's posts like that when I really start to doubt the authenticity of the Swamp. Is he really this insane, or just the most dedicated / awesomely best troll on the internet?  Is there a difference?  If so, does anyone care?

Swampie, if you REALLY want to JamIt, add a feature to SSRR where your VB5 application just counts up to infinity in a tight loop.  Maybe a "type cc at prompt #2" type thing.  (cc for CrashComputer).   That way, whenever you pine for the golden days of typing quickly into a 24 baud single-process dumb terminal hooked up to a 10 MHz workhorse, you can just jam cc.  Also useful during the winter to convert your computer into a heater.

Good God, this is the one of the most hilarious sentences I heard from Swampie. It sounds like a Ballmer ad: "Kill YOUR computer now, with the new WINDOWS ME!!! Except in Nebraskuh"

I'm in fits of hysterics right now... the whole post is so insane and idiotic... I mean, Swampie, do you seriously think freezing up your computer by using some slo mo effect is a GOOD thing?! How in the world is it a good thing that a piece of software which is all about your freedom and "sharing abilities" crashes your entire computer to the point you need to reset it? That's not a feature by any standards... it sounds more like you found that your software was freezing when you were playing in slo mo, and after hours of jamming it trying to make it work, you tried to rationalize it out and finally claim that it's one of the things that make this software so POWERFUL and GREAT!

Why on earth would we want to crash our computers? More importantly why would any of us want to spend any more time with SSRR than we already have?

Admittedly in the past when I have genuinely tried to make it work, tried to understand the meaningless crap it spits all over my screen I would have preferred the excuse of "it kept hanging, so I lost interest". I am not going to try it again, just so it can crash my pc.

Hi LooseJuiceSwamp glad you are here.

I'm not suffraging that much. The more they argue the better it is actually. I have even made some changes because of those disagreements. I was a bit hung up on slow motion of those faster than sight objects. To a point where I missed the obvious. Golf. Every golfer wants to see their swings in slow motion. SSDS does slo-mo simpler than any software out there. I'll be doing my first tournie tomorrow and another on tuesday. With 2 camcorders. One from behind and the other from the side. I can merge those 2 sets of video and have them playing back to the duffers within 15 minutes of getting back to the clubhouse. While testing the slow motion playback from DVD's I found that SSDS locks up Windows but USB sticks work fine.

It will be easy for me to load each USB stick and change the video list so that each foursome has their videos play first out of the 90 or so golfers. As well I'll use the Slowed large font print every 10 or 20 video clips to do a little PR for the sponsors and the "Faster than Sight" software.

When 2 out of the 5 golf courses I emailed gave me a positive response it couldn't be better.

I'll give you an update as to how it went tomorrow evening.

Again thanks for the positive response. Don't worry about all of those negative comments. Some of them are extremely funny. I would have quit this forum long ago if it was bothering me.

  •  That's great, Spectate. I'm going to go rub one out, but you keep trucking!

  • Nobody Shares Golf video faster than SSDS

Yesterday started out a little funny.

We got there at 7:45 thinking that the T-off was at 9:00 (nope it was at 1:30)

The golf pro said we should take a cart and check which hole was best sun wise. We took the wrong cart. One with player info on it and the assistant pro had to catch up with us and take the player info card off us. We had the wrong layout map for the course and were confused by that. We finally got the right one and picked a hole that would be best. Not too much room between the pro, mens and ladies T boxes. So we didn't have to move too much. During the tournie, there wasn't a golfer that didn't want to be videoed. Later in the day the sun was down enough that the ladies T was in the shade. I asked them if they could shoot from 10 Feet back so they could be in the sun. Nobody balked at that. What fine people we videoed.

In total between the 2 camcorders we had 185 mpg clips taking up 1.01 GB. Most clips were in the 6 to 10 second range. Within 15 minutes of getting back to the clubhouse. We set up both computers (PC with large screen and Laptop) and had the video downloaded from the 2 camcorders. I them moved those to my USB stick and had the PC running randomly showing Full speed OR Slow motion playbacks. The laptop was set to run full speed and sequentially.  Now we have a real good demo for the upcomming Ladies tournament on tuesday.

Next time we will slip in large font scrolling text for the sponsors of the event. And later even have the Golfer's name in large font slowed print between their Full speed version and the Slowed Motion playbacks. Nobody but nobody can do Video faster than this. NOBODY

LooseJuiceSwamp Please Don't rub out anything on my behalf. But thanks for the support.
