Android Chrome + Samsung keyboard
-
So recently (within the last few months) I upgraded my Samsung S4 android to 4.4.2
Way back when, there was an annoying as fuck bug that when you type in the chrome URL bar, it double posts the letters (IE: Typing 'm' results in 'mm' - hitting backspace twice after this and typing 'm' would result in 'mmm')
SOMEWHERE I found a fix that was changing a setting [deep in the bowls of android settings which didn't appear to be related to the language input tab]
But that was on 4.1.3. 4.4.2 seems to have purged that setting and reintroduced the bug.
Swype keyboard doesn't repro, but swype is annoying because it doesn't have numbers at the top, and auto correct isn't nearly as good as the samsung keyboard, and in general, I just like the samsung keyboard better. Except for the chrome URL issue.
Has anybody experienced this? Was anybody else able to find the fix?
Share if you found the fix!

I don't know anything about Samsung's keyboard, but if you're not too attached to it, I recommend SwiftKey.

Not a fan of the Samsung keyboard on my S5 so went back to the Google Keyboard which was the stock on my Nexus 5.

Swype is nice once you get used to it (and train it a bit too).

I like "hacker's keyboard". It has a bunch of customizations available to let you have #s on screen with keyboard by default or not, as well as F-Keys and CTRL/ALT keys for if you use your device to RDP or Terminal.

I use Multiling Keybaord (Beta version) - have done for ages (you may have noticed the Dvorak layout in some of my mobile screenshots - this was the only one I could find that supported that layout and I found usable.)

My god, that onebox is ugly...

That onebox is amazing and I demand somebody find out how to make a massive multi page onebox
