I did, just not right there. Ok, I gave him a hairstyle.

RE: The Official Funny Stuff Thread™
I support using Canadian notation. It's mostly just for booleans.
Instead of:
bool isVisible; bool isValid;
You use:
bool visibleEh; bool validEh;

Does your monitor sing to you? http://thume.ca/screentunes/
Mine don't... But it's trippy to stare at this for awhile and then try to read something. Maximize browser for best results.

RE: :book: :book: Teh Official Discopædia Meta
until i make @sockbot do it automatically every time a new definition is posted. :-P
Is this some kind of power grab?
-
RE: :book: :book: Teh Official Discopædia Meta
I think there used to be a "Jeff noun" and a "Jeff verb".

RE: :book: :book: Teh Official Discopædia Meta
Or make a URL: http://what.thedailywtf.com/raw/topicNum/postNum
As in:
http://what.thedailywtf.com/raw/3866/371
(Not necessarily easier, I suppose.)

RE: :book: :book: Teh Official Discopædia Meta
Oh sorry, yeah I meant first post in the thread, that's the one that's got the comments in it.

RE: :book: :book: Teh Official Discopædia Meta
You could've just hit the edit button on the post....

RE: Poll: Discourse Tagging Plugin
Changing the options and the surrounding text is pretty much the only thing you're allowed to do. Can't add or remove options.
But I did add two options... ("I don't care" and "Undecided")

RE: Poll: Discourse Tagging Plugin
Is this Tagger? I've tried it on other Discoforums, it's both broken and shit.
Eviltrout: "inspired by tagger2 but at this point has been re-written from scratch."
-
RE: Poll: Discourse Tagging Plugin
Sam is suggesting Trust Level 3/4 for tag creation....
-
RE: Poll: Discourse Tagging Plugin
Hmmm, I dunno if plugin was changed. I added a couple options, but didn't change any existing ones. Which would be interesting, if you could change options after they'd already gotten votes...
Do you like puppies?
- yes
- no

Do you like puppies?
- I like them fried in butter
- Hail Satan!

RE: Poll: Discourse Tagging Plugin
Does it still look broken to you? Looks ok to me now, though it did look broken immediately after I did the edit. When I refreshed the page it looked ok again.
-
Poll: Discourse Tagging Plugin
Discourse is working on a tagging plugin. Do we want it here?
- Yes
- No
- I don't care
- Undecided
- TAG_NOT_FOUND

RE: :book: :book: Teh Official Discopædia Meta
Hmmm, it only got flagged over there after I quoted it here... Sorry, @discodevs, it was just to lulzy a term to pass up.

RE: ⏱ You know you've been spending too much time on TDWTF when...
When you're here, but you're not at work.

RE: The thread of movie titles and absence of badges. In previous episodes, it was signs you're getting older, chiropractic vs. medicine, atheism vs. Mormonism and religion vs. science with no existentialism nor philosophy thrown in
Be grocery shopping, and the music on the PA is the stuff you loved when it was new. Now it's oldies.

I shaved off my wizard beard this morning, now I don't know what to do with my hands during "hmmmm" moments.

RE: The Official Funny Stuff Thread™
"The rear seat thing, It is rare that I fold them down, but it has to be said that when folded they remove a bit of weight. Vertical seats exert more downward force because the energy is focused on a smaller surface area. When horizontal, the weight is spread and so is less per Centimetre squared."

RE: Holidays? PFFFFT!
Nice. I'm guessing they hit issues before getting to the "once-a-day manual process" bit.

RE: Holidays? PFFFFT!
"IT staff will need to perform a one-off manual process once a day to move work from a plant that is closed to a plant that is open"
Hi @Weng, so what happened? Did anyone have to go in?

RE: Can't even shoot the messenger
... we'd have to hand out do many of those it wouldn't even be funny!
No, just one per user... Their first one. Its icon would be a cherry.
-
RE: Can't even shoot the messenger
Yeah ok, but to be clear, I didn't write all that stuff, or even gather it up and format it. I just pasted a link, and all the contents puked out into the post. Also, preview didn't look like it was going to do that, but it did show the top photo from the destination page.
Link was this
Feel more like I should get a "Your first thread derailment" badge.

RE: Can't even shoot the messenger
Sorry, didn't realize it was gonna one-box the whole steaming heap. Here it is again.

RE: Can't even shoot the messenger
The camo hair-bow isn't standard issue? There's a red-head version, too.

RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
I checked Discopædia to see if it was already there, and it was, posted by @abarker, in October! Sam did his research. Actually, too much research...
-
RE: Can't even shoot the messenger
so.... it is japan.
Lol, I didn't even realize it was from a game. I'd gone google image search for this, not remembering it was a chopper, and used the plane instead:

It's real, although she's not really the pilot.

RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
Oh, I know, I read it before he deleted. I was just commenting on how now, it'll say "Loading..." if you try to expand. As if it's working on loading something.
-
RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
@Intercourse said:
We decide what DiscoDrama is. DiscoDevs do not.
If you try to expand Sam's quote in the above post, it can't, because it's been deleted. But it just replaces the quote with "Loading...", instead of something more informative, like "This post has been deleted." And if you hit the up-arrow, it scrolls you to the spot where the post isn't.
-
RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
Yeah, I was going to edit my post to say hanzo'd, and you hanzo'd that, too! Apparently it's ok to post gore gifs if "This is a very, very famous movie!"
-
RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
what about something like eye-slash
It's been mentioned over there: https://meta.discourse.org/t/minimal-discourse/23288/2

RE: Can't even shoot the messenger
I wonder if things would've worked out better if the A-10 had been given to the Army instead of Air Force.
-
RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
Sam's current proposal of making them bookmarks to the OP
Yeah, that's not as good, loses your place, hope they can understand that.
-
RE: What favorite UI element will we lose next? Everything?
Maybe they're planning to just use bookmarks for both posts and topics?

RE: The toxoplasma of rage (article)
Agree, it's pretty good. Was waiting for him to bring up Gamergate, he saved it for the last line.
