@cabrito my shitty mobile ISP has a 1GB cap, my ADSL is around 100GB. I don't wanna spend it in avatars that will be resized by CSS

@Yamikuronue what about strip club workers?
How would they avoid meeting coworkers in a strip club? -
RE: Discussion of NodeBB Updates
And there are still multi-petabytes avatars in this thing

Would it be possible to make it so the window only pops up if there are downvotes?
Note that it also shows you all of the upvotes. See here for the most ridiculous case:

@PleegWat didn't get the memo

RE: Should downvotes be public?
@loopback0 I'm still surprised with the amount of bloat they're putting on Unicode.
I don't need a 1TB library to use iso-8859-15

RE: IoT...
I really can't see the appeal of these voice assistants. Computers are slow enough as is,
I think people buy these things thinking it will be like strong IA, just to be disappointed. IMO it's snake oil.
-
RE: Discussion of NodeBB Updates
I don't care about my downvotes, but I oppose it on principle. And then the pop-up had an horrible GUI useless in Mobile when I don't recognize the avatars, as one should expect from NodeBB.

Can someone explain this one? Is it some pun hard for non-english speakers?

users can click on the vote total and see who up and down voted a post
And then the murders began.

RE: Discussion of NodeBB Updates
@loopback0 Too much work to look, and the title is useless on mobile, and I only use it on mobile
-
RE: Should downvotes be public?
As a side effect, the new pop-up window is annoying and I liked the old one better.
-
RE: Discussion of NodeBB Updates
It just show the avatar, so I can use @ben_lubar avatar and go amok downvote g everyone

RE: How a proper ignore function should work
@anotherusername just delete all complicated and side-effecty corner cases.
Look back only what is already in memory, and if a post is in an hard to decide situation just show it.
-
RE: How a proper ignore function should work
@anotherusername I'm just saying what I think would be the perfect solution, without considering complexity.
If I were to implement it, I would look back only to the information that is already fetched from the database in a single request.

The page number on nodebb links is useless
If something is at page 50 it will be at a different page for someone with a different posts per page configuration. Anyone clicking on it will get to a different place.
It could have the number of the first post of the page on the link.

You can remove IE11, so it's still 1 browser you can't (officially) remove.
Yeah, but then you're stuck with Edge
Yeah but you need Edge to download Chrome.
No, I can sneaker-net it from another machine! Which got it from another machine. Which.... Oh fuck.
Thinking of how many floppies would be needed to copy a modern browsers ahow how much things got bloated. I used to have good games in one floppy.

EF with database-first is fine, but code-first was a half assed thing to satisfy the DDDers.

Since Windows 8 I think.

RE: Where @ben_lubar 's next paycheck is going
@cvi I like to think LOTR would make a great movie if we take the 3 of them and remove all the scenes with Hobbit and tree drama.

RE: Because the hedgehog's becoming a bit of a critical rendering path optimisation evangelist,
Programming cargo cults are already being called evangelism. Next I'll have people knocking my door at Sunday's morning asking if I can hear them about the benefits of tableless web pages.
-
RE: Where @ben_lubar 's next paycheck is going
@cvi sounds like a more realistic version of The Hobbit

RE: The Official Status Thread
Played Akinator without thinking a character, just answering whatever would be the coolest. Lots of I don't know answers, and it guessed "a ghost". Probably because the questions I didn't answer, I guess my experiment failed.

This is how all websites should be done:
Everything else that is added is crap
