Doing middle clicks wrong

Click that in the top right. Now middle click on the .
Expected: the advanced search opens in a new tab
Actual: the current page opens in a new tab, and the advanced search opens in the current tab.
I humbly request that the advanced search button should only respond to left mouse clicks, not middle and right. Also it would be nice if whatever's in the search box were ever copied to the search field of the search page.

Lucky! My Chrome ignores opening a new tab and just brings me to Advanced Search.

What ?
The only one I see is this one:
But I don't think you can see that and it has nothing to do with search.

Your theme is bad and it should feel bad.

False. Aside from apparently it hides the advanced search thingy, which I can see by using dev tools. And it's not my custom CSS.

I see similar behavior on community.nodebb.org (have to shrink the window to see the ), except everything flows differently, so the overlap is an effect of some custom css we have (I tried removing my personal stuff and that didn't seem to matter):
-
I just want to note that I'm using a default theme too and I do have that button when maximized.

Same here.

@loopback0 I get it on Firefox:
Previous screenshots were from chrome.
-
@boomzilla Ah yeah it disappears for me too in Chrome.
-
I see it just fine in maximized Opera. Don't know if it has anything to do with theme but it just adds more evidence that anyone not using Slate is

I tried it but there's too much stuff on it that's not dark.
Like you go to reply to a topic and get blinded by the white reply section. At least on the light skins my eyes are used to it.
-
@loopback0 I've done a bunch of customization for it because of that.
-
@hungrier I was going to but

Also...yuck.

(I also got rid of the ugly lines)

Um, actually, the lines bother me less than the background. I've always hated reading forums with super dark backgrounds.

At least they haven't managed to break find-on-page like
-
@error There's an option in the settings to enable that, but I've never had the desire to find out just how broken it is
-
Anyway back to the original topic ()
Why isn't the advanced search button just a regular link? They can do all these things:
- open in the same tab when left clicked
- open in a new tab when middle clicked
- not open when right clicked
Instead what we have now appears to be an
<a href="#">
with some magic that poorly simulates the behaviour of<a href="advancedsearch.html">

That would be so 2008.

I've been wondering for a while: does that mean "LOL get fucked"?
League of Legends Greek Fans seems to be too much out of context.
