Google: What country is...
-
We are familiar! Didst thou not witness our prior reply in that chain?!
-
Accepted. I'm going to go with blaming Discourse for this one :p
-
It is fine, the software doesn't always make histories obvious. 💻😒
-
-
That's a blast from the past.
-
-
Just for fun, 'cos I think I can see what Google did there:
Ps.
"...let's not be too hard on the U.S.S.R. because they were also the last country to carry out a similar mission, almost four decades ago...""...thewire.com/global/2013/12/china...third-country...moon/356151/..."
:WTF: Do they mean "the last" as in the most recent? Or last as in previous? In fact the whole text "sound bite" is a patronising :WTF:

The Hitchhickers Guide to the Gallexey
That's not how you spell Galaxy... That's not how you spell Hitch-hiker either.

It's probably in-house, the Korean version might be working.

I was going for a 'Chinese knock-off' joke, but I guess that works too.
500 Internal Server Error

But you live in that silly country with a dutch flag that has a checkered board and some tiny thingies on it.

There is but a single miraculous place where Discourse is free of cooties. To quote Richard Kadrey,
It has many names but its real name translates roughly as 'the Dayward.' It doesn't exist in any one location. It exists in time. It's said that in 1582, when Pope Gregory switched from the old Julian to the Christian calendar, fifteen days were lost. Those fifteen days, existing outside of our space and time, are the Dayward. Blue Heaven.
Well now we know.

Gallexey
I could not remember how to spell, it's not as if I use it every day, and my browser spell checker wasn't helping no matter how I mangled the word. O fucking K!
As for hyphenation...well that deserves a thread all of it's own. It will be a pedant's paradise, which is why nobody is going to create one. OK.....

The correct spelling is right there in the first sentence of your Vogon Wikipedia onebox:
@The onebox said:The Vogons are a fictional alien race from the planet Vogsphere in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
:P
-
Yeah, but the One Box was an after thought and the CBA_FUCKIT module had kicked in and gotten itself locked.
NB. You will note that the One Box wouldn't have any issues with my spelling of Hichhicker's :p
No, wait..........fuckit Time for a new ficking keabord...........

I have enough trouble with those without looking at them on the coat of arms as well.
Our currency is called "marten"

-
I was thinking of that but couldn't remember the name of it =(

I'd prefer using actual goats as currency.

Easier than Camels to carry
-
I didn't know goat simulator was actually a Croatian book keeping application

Man, flags are CHEAP.
The real problem is that neither polyester nor nylon make particularly good towel materials.

But they burn goooood.

Cooties strike only on days ending with y.
So you don't get it on Christmas or New Year's.
Or tomorrow.

Every country is incompetent. I'll just go make my own country.

Namaah_Darling's goal with that piece was to to write a piece of 'erotica' that would include everything she could think of that should never, ever go in a love poem. While obviously some things are absent (like the merely boring or unrelated), I think she managed to hit the nail on the head.
She actually makes a living at writing good love (or rather, erotic and pornographic) stories, but this was intentionally done as horridly as she could manage.

Looks like, from several of the posts, it is basing it on another country that's adjacent.
-
I suspect it's a country that is bolded in the introduction of the Wiki article, often because it's mentioned in geographical relation to the country in question.

Several european countries link to eachother, with one chain terminating in Norway. Estonia and Latvia just return eachother.
South and Central American countries mostly just return the region/continent.
Mongolia is a rather entertaining one, since it isn't even small.

…and there's an @accalia in there

That should be a double

Metalic is the name of the bad guy from a 1980s cartoon series starring US Marines who wear robot suits that transform into various types of cookware. Also they have a cute mascot who is a robot olive.
I did not make this up.

...what.

You don't remember The Adventures Of Sergeant Mixing Bowl?

Careful @Blakeyrat, your sarcasm meter is lowering!

You don't remember The Adventures Of Sergeant Mixing Bowl?
I remember it. They all reported to General Electric.
