I certainly haven't had (nor has any of the non-spammers on here to my knowledge) any deleted as a result of a flag.
i think that's counting all deleted posts, even self deleted

I'd be surprised if it was anything else.
But as a metric, how useful is it? Even/especially in isolation?
I see those numbers on everyone's profile page - they don't tell me anything, especially that green one since I don't know what it's actually measuring this week (they've been around for ages, but I get the impression the calculations have changed a few times.)

useless.
a useful metric would be those that were deleted/hidden because of community flags.
-

Probably about as useful as knowing how many swallows purchase vanilla frappuccinos from the Starbucks in St Ann's Square in Manchester
<INB4 'African or European?'

Probably not very, unless it stands out as being very high. But then there are likely other signs that are easier to see.

Does that say someone flagged a post of @apapadimoulis and 4 of his posts had to be deleted?
He earned a badge. I know this because someone just liked my post that awarded it. Here's the flagged post:
https://what.thedailywtf.com/t/help-us-back-programming-languages-abc/48447/50?u=boomzilla
On flags we mostly Do It Wrong.

1. @shadowmod and @sam have a shield in profile page, but not on posts.
2. @pjh_mod (and you) have both
3. @boomzilla and I have bothI think #1 to be a bug since it's an indicator of an admin who isn't a mod.
Just don't expect them to admit it. ;)

As @boomzilla pointed out, the flag counts round here are mostly meaningless. The deleted post count also appears to include posts that the user deleted on their own, so it's not really a helpful indicator.
-
@boomzilla is more memberable because he's counter-cultural, what with believing in personal responsibility and all.
-
-
what the hell, brain!?!
That's what I thought, but not what I typed?
-
Parp!
-
@boomzilla is more memberable
I'd prefer not knowing which one of us you'd member, TYVM.

That's why that word looked weird....

is a helpful flag?
On StackExchange, if you flag a post, the mods can accept it or reject it. "Helpful" flags have been accepted. Having too many flags rejected somehow penalizes you, I think by lowering your daily number of flags you can hand out?

CBA to find it, but I have written posts to that effect before. THings like welfare in the US is out of control, Obamacare is shit, gun control is a bad idea because everywhere in the US that implements it ends up with more violent crime, etc.
Shit, I'm like a younger version of @boomzilla. Before long I'll be yelling at people to get off my lawn. Or I could take the easy route and just plant a bunch of cacti.

But we don't really "accept" flags around here, aside from the occasional spam flag.

There have been very few. But they were spectacular!

We planted bamboo, the kids hide in it.
Waiting for the lawsuit when one gets bit by the snakes back there.

What varieties of snakes do you get to begin with?
-
The most likely problematic snake is the water moccasin or coral snake.
-
Ouch. Not sure what to say, since all the slithery types over here are pretty darn well harmless.

What's a US-ian?
-
'Merican.
Left-pondian.
Lives in between Canada and Mexico (the short way round).
-
Never heard of it.

You either die a liberal, or live long enough to see yourself become a conservative.

This guy is from there...
-
I...don't think so. He looks American.
-
Also American:

... but not USian.
Filed under: but never portrayed by John Wayne
-
Well, if you want to be like that.
-
Depends on where the photo was taken.
Some of those people look Swedish.
-
look Swedish.
Also American.
We have the advantage that if green aliens landed in America, they'd be American too, in about 10 years of working illegally.
-
Is picture taken on an alien world?
(And why then have you been hiding this?)Then not likely to be aliens - green or otherwise.
Filed under: still have not confirmed US-ian or non-US-ian-ness of @tarunik... fear he has been killed by snake.
-
Then he shouldn't be standing in my bamboo.
-
Yes, I am -- we don't get rattlers in the part of the US where I am though.
-
-
-
-
Yeah, he looks Aztec to me.
-
so, if i'm not an USA citizen i'm not american?
TIL
-
Is there another country with "America" in it's name? Why would anyone else call themselves American?
-
-
-
So...no?
-
how do you call the people who live in the american continent but not in USA?
mexicans?
-
Some of them. I might call them North Americans, but that would be very weird. Calling them Americans would only make sense if I were an internet troll.
Amusingly, Mexicans tend to call Americans norteamericanos.
