I heard a song that rhymed "wealthy" with "professor".
I felt like applauding.

diameter. better. getter. setter. matter. patter. flatter. batter. shatter. Exeter.
But I don't pronounce “pentameter” quite like that, especially when using a bit of a distortion produces a better meaning coupling.

Oh what a hottie.
Look at that sexy body.
I am tumescent.
-
It might not fit in.
Your ass will ache when I'm done.
But I'll be smiling.

The Captain is not feeling right;
His pants have become rather tight.
But if verse is a guide
To what he's like to ride,
He's going to be lonely tonight.

Limericks are a little too hard;
Rhyming shit like Cap'n Picard.
But I'll give it a try,
I'm feeling quite sly;
Nope I still failed like a retard.

When buzzword-filled reports have made you sick
And pornographic haiku's lost its charm,
It's clearly time for you to chance your arm
At something meatier: the limerick.The rhythm is the first thing to lock in:
Your readers will forgive some wonky rhyming
But if you can't be bothered with the timing,
Your poetry will end up in the bin.So always keep a Notepad window open
And when a good line pops into your head,
Write down a bunch of variations on it;The limerick toward which you are groping
May manifest as something else instead:
This one, it seems, has turned into a sonnet.Filed under: tra la la, whack fol the dildo

Everything is bugged. Except Discourse. Naturally.
In fact, I've even bugged your phones

@boomzilla Does that limerick not rhyme, or do you pronounce
adieu

Not sure how you would pronounce those words.
-
@boomzilla "Adieu", when pronounced Frenchally, sounds like "adyer" without the r.

From one of my old friends on Usenet:
A haiku composer from Tsu:
Tried writing a limerick too
But after two lines
His senses were distracted
By cherry blossoms.As for this messed-up rhyming business, I once wrote a song that was supposed to have abab scheme, but there were so many approximate rhymes (fading/remaining, come/sun, center/mental) in the first couple of verses that it dropped to abcb in short order.

It surprised me that
@boomzilla of all people
Became fbmac

To me, this thread seems
To be for haikus, not limericks
