Futility personified.

Status: I am far too old and far too sleepy to enjoy "Thirsty Thursday". I am no longer 23, and that is utter bullshit.

I've reached the age where I'll even occasionally turn down a free beer...
-
I'm 20, so I'm legally obligated to turn down a beer, free or otherwise.
-
Really? Even if it's at a private event or someone's house?
Then again, I got ID'd in the States trying to buy a sixpack when I was obviously about 30, so they do seem to take that kind of thing seriously...
-
Status: twiddling thumbs.
Something outside my control went awry. My SIP trunks aren't working. Development currently halted.
Sigh. I guess I could go fix some UI bugs then...

in Belgium? Would that not be considered sacrilege?
-
legally obligated
USA! USA!
Move to Belgium, you could have been legally drunk for 4 years! And easily more years illegally.

-

W0t? It's legal to drink alcohol starting from age 16. You can drive a moped but no car.

Status: Just did this
try { $reflector = new ReflectionMethod($module->model, $methodName); // snip } catch(ReflectionException $e) { continue; }
I feel dirty...
Edit: So I wanted to check what the exception actually is... can't find a damn thing about what any code means in php docs.

Status: Behold I just posted this reply and screen did not jitter, and post did not start flashing 1 second in.
for some crazy reason, this particular fix has gone unnoticed by so many people, no idea why it did not drive people mad

Sooner or later I'm going to land in the middle of the whitespace desert underneath all the content again.
At that moment I will call you out and ask if that's enough jitter for you
-
And I broke the parser again!
Take that emojicon as either a proper interpretation of it's name or celebration. Whichever you prefer.
-
the workflow used to be
- We stage the post in the stream
- We save post on server
- We scroll to post
- We highlight post
- We hide suggested topics
- We show suggested topics
new flow is
- We stage post
- We scroll to post (if its not in view)
- We highlight post
- We save post
So it feels smooth as butter
-
It does feel [s]a little[/s] smoother, I'll grant that. And not doing the Suggested Topics hide/show likely helps a lot too
-

For 15 years in the UK, though only on private property. Could buy it and drink in public* for the last 2.
*technically could drink in public for 4 years, but only with a meal and an adult.

It comes and goes, depending on the whims of the enforcers. They get serious about stuff and so do the cashiers.

I think it only happened when I was already at the bottom of the topic. We mostly don't wait to post until then. And people have been complaining about weird auto-scrolling things.
-

There are a million idiot stupid bugs here that drive me mad. If I reported all of them, I'd be doing nothing but that for months.
The only reason I mentioned that stupid one in Windows Phone where it scrolls to pixel 34724326 for some reason and you have to scroll-up for like 4 months to see the actual content you wanted is because it made the site literally 100% unusable.

Blakey suddenly wakes up at 4 AM...
"Wha... Why did I wake up... wait... that strange feeling in the back of my head... Oh no! Something was fixed on Discourse! Quick to the forums, to remind everyone Discourse is shit!"
-
Blakey suddenly wakes up at 4 AM...
I couldn't wake up at 4 AM because I was up late trying to post photos of my PC building and finding Discourse FUCKING DOWN AGAIN.
-
His Blakeysense was tingling

FUCKING DOWN AGAIN
Thing usually fuck up, not fuck down.
Wait...

Too bad. You could have cross-posted it here for (currently) 4 likes.

You don't have a dedicated /t/Status and /t/1000 tab?
-
no. besides /t/1000 and /t/1673 have been fairly quiet today.
-
I'm curious about what are you doing that needs ReflectionMethod
-
Dependency injection?
-
maybe.
it's one of the few not uses for that.
-
Can't you just do
$module->model->$methodName($arg1, $arg2);
?
-
yup. ReflectionMethod it's for getting info about the method. and accesing private methods.

Who cares about the Language Ids thread? It hasn't been active since June of 2014.

added the extra zero....
Why would that change anything? Is this common core math again?

Wait, that's actually a thread? Is it in a Super Secret Location a mere TL3 cannot reach?

Status: Working with a team in India on a project, and we have update calls twice each week. I make an effort to arrive in the office half an hour before the call to help make sure I am awake and prepared for the meeting. Showed up this morning to an email indicating that the call had been shifted an hour earlier, which means that I had already missed it.
The real kicker? The email about the time change was sent 8 minutes before the new meeting time.
