The NEW Official Unofficial Discourse bug tracker!
-
Mobile so I don't know who this is at, if it's at me probably not. I only got through about 30 last night. We have like 250 reports. I should get there.
It was indeed directed at you. I'm feeling somewhat slighted by the omission.
-
I haven't even made it past August 27th yet, you posted that in June. Your report is basically my finish line.
Though you could always Fuck with the ordering by replying to the bug, bumping it to the top of the list, and confusing the Fuck out of me as it shifts!
Seriously though. How the Fuck is there any sanity to bug handling when there is no sorting by create date, only last activity?

Only 5 wats? You're not very bright, are you?
File Under: Jokes made less funny since the launch of LED bulbs

I can't reply because @codinghorror closed it...
The wonderful thing about what you're doing is that if Discourse is a suitable bug tracker, the developers should easily be able to identify which bugs they have and haven't resolved and whether each is currently logged in their system.
-
By the way @tufty, I have no idea what to do with pretty much any of your bug reports, so if they are anything but a rant clarify an actual issue/ expectation and I'll add it to the list.
Pretty much all of your reports aren't actionable.
-
They order by the likes column, obviously

OK, can you show me another open source project similar to Discourse in scale (5 man team) that fixed 4 bugs in the last 24 hours using their bug tracker
Not easily, no. But I can show you one where we've uncovered, 300+1 bugs in under 4 months. Does that count?
1 I haven't done a manual count recently, and this wonderful software has somehow managed to omit showing useless information like "there are [n] topics in this category". But a few weeks back I did a full count and found an average of just under 2 bugs / day found and reported here.
-

I thought the ones I'd posted as bugs had expectation / reality / steps to reproduce, but I may be wrong. Frankly, though, given that I am entirely against what you're trying to do here, I'd rather you left them out.
-

Wonder what the count would be if some of the bugs found were actually reported and not just posted into whatever topic when the user found the bug while replying.
-
pretty sure a bunch get missed this way
-
Yeap. I don't frequent the likes thread so I probably miss a lot of the ui stuff.
-

If you only display the bugs, load them all, then look at the rows, you can use the id attributes to sum up, as all the ids from one AJAX request seem to be consecutive. That gives me 273 bugs.
-
Huh thanks for this. I'll take a look soon!

Something else a real bugtracker could facilitate:
-
BUG: half the time when I open a bunch of topics from the main lists into new tabs, I end up with half of my tabs just being blank (for a 25% blankpage rate? or something.) I don't know if Ember is crapping itself about not being in focus or what. I hit F5 and the topic loads fine.
Expected: A forum that works.
-
What, you mean like what happens when you use something like
#fixes 1234
in a commit message if you're tracking issues through github on your github based project? Something like that?
Burn the heretic, I say. Flaying's too good for him.
-
Yeah. Something like that.

I've started to see blank pages quite frequently. It wasn't happening before today as far as I remember.
-
Yeah, this bitbucket bug tracking system supports that black magic.
-
It's the much-awaited ember update that improves performance.
Filed Under: By not sending anything

I just implemented a bunch of SEO, should see some results in a day or two I think.
I'm probably going to do some additional things like use an iframe around the site instead of domain forwarding so that google webtools can better index the site too.
(Pending, of course, my domain masking. I think google will play nice with it)

I await the results with great anticipation.

Ditto. It's not ember, seems something breaks on the backend side.

Same here. Ever since I saw the site update modal this morning, things have been messed up. @boomzilla, @cartman82, @Maciejasjmj, @HardwareGeek, @tufty all have missing avatars for me. About 30% of the time when a topic loads it is just a blank screen until I F5.
-
@tufty is supposed to have a missing avatar. He thinks that kind of shit is funny, or something.

That is because @tufty is a fucking cunt. That doesn't explain other missing avatars though. I had a suspicion you did yours as the others are just blank spaces.
-
Yeah, I haven't touched mine since early days.

Damn fuckin' straight he is.
For the others, I'd suggest finding some way of duplicating the problem, and watching the network activity as it happens. Based on previous performance, I'd guess a race condition or something else that's killing or forgetting ajax requests

Ctrl + F5 and he is back.
Fortunately, my new avatar is still there. ;)
-
Yeah, I haven't touched mine since early days.
Likewise. I grabbed my old one from CS as soon as I found out that Discourse was in bed and performing indecent acts with Gravitar, and haven't looked back.
-
Obviously, I updated from my CS avatar.
-
Liar. If you updated from CS, it would look like this:

Man...for a minute, I thought you were @blakeyrat.
<whoosh?>

…and now my work is done.
Filed under: fuck you and your lies, discopreview

you're not alone in that thought.
I had thought that @blakeyrat had himself a sockpuppet.
actually i'm still not sure, but i do know that it is fun to @ mention @blakeyrat.

Is http://discoursebugs.com supposed to be a blank page?
Is that the joke?
-
Nope, looks like my domain forwarding change didn't work correctly. (Was trying to optimize SEO)
-
If this next change fails looks like I'll be implementing the frame after all.
-
Not sure whether you've implemented the change, yet, but I'm still getting a blank page.
-
[Error] Refused to display 'https://bitbucket.org/masamunewos/discoursebugs/issues' in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'SAMEORIGIN'. (about:blank, line 0)
-
Disappoint.
Waiting for caching to finish on godaddy so I can fix it.
-
Status: Currently fixing CNAME / setting bitbucket's custom domain up.
-
DNS caching is a pain in the dick.
www.discoursebugs.com should work again though - some changes to come.

DNS caching is a pain in the dick.
Seems like an odd appendage to use for messing with DNS caching ...
-
@Sam @eviltrout, filed some more bugs.
-
@blakeyrat dos not like being @ mentioned, and we do not want to anger @blakeyrat.
-
Besides, it is more fun to do it in multiple posts. @blakeyrat only received one notification up there. You have to string them out.
