I demand that this fraudulent, crapulous, Jonny-come-lately Thread be shut down, flushed, and integrated with the preexisting thread after a stern talking-to and waterboarding.
See officially official thread, with only the best dead people, at https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/28409/the-official-2023-death-pool. All persons not listed there, are declared undead.

@Watson Pancreatic cancer. Probably not the way he wanted to go.

Edit: The onebox is misleading. "She tested positive..." refers to something that happened 2 years ago, not what killed her now.
-
@HardwareGeek Good news! Due to this misfiling into Death Poo, she may still be alive!

Daredevilry can lead you to strange places.

@HardwareGeek The article fails to mention who's the oldest now. It's probably not any WTDWTF forum member, but we can never be too sure.
Could it be Mike Patton?
-
@hungrier unfortunately, I'm not able to exist at any negative time_t greater than MININT / 4, due to a stupid and now-unremovable workaround.

Hopefully the actual death will be filed correctly. And with a larger, wetter, rabbit.

I'm sorry you feel a loss, but purebred Siamese have no souls, even less than gingers.

The creator of Catan, and thus an influencer on more than a generation's worth of boardgaming, has rolled his last.

He had retired just 3 years ago.

I liked watching him on Masterchef Australia. Not sure how far they were into shooting the next season.

Oh wow. He's been a part of my life for about twenty years. Who do I replace him with? Alex Jones?

@cvi I suppose it's fitting that the only two Brams I have come across are Bram Stoker and the creator of Vim.
Now that the Benevolent Dictator for Life has passed, the only option is a bloody succession battle.

WTF? There are two "official" 2023 death pool threads. Stupid Gribnit.

In a weird way its the antithesis of Gribnit. It was a thread dedicated to his usual nonsense that got co-opted to something useful. A fitting tombstone if he never comes back.

For reference, the other one is in: https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/28409/the-official-2023-death-pool
And there's already (by Gribnit): https://what.thedailywtf.com/topic/28797/the-official-2024-death-pool

@boomzilla Not so sure. For it to be a lie, it would have to be false and the writer would have had to know it was false.

Yes. We've been stuck in 2020 for a while now.

The article just mentions NCIS, but he goes way back. He was probably equally famous for his role in The Man from UNCLE.
-
@jinpa but he wasn't on The Man From UNCLE for twenty consecutive seasons.
He was, however, in other great TV - he pops up in a good Babylon 5 episode, and of course there is Sapphire and Steel which is just worth watching in general.
-
@Arantor Early '70s, he starred in a short-lived "Invisible Man" series, with former Little Rascal Jackie Cooper as the corporate bad guy.
One night the show was pre-empted for news coverage, probably something Watergate-related, and I swear the voiceover announcer on the El Paso station came on and said "The Invisible Man will not be seen tonight". That was better than the show could ever have been.
