The caption, translated, says "I found the car we all drew as children". It's funny because it's true.
-
@Benjamin-Hall I remember in like 1st grade, I and one other kid used to draw a lot of car interiors from driver's point of view, and then pretended to be the drivers. We never had patience to draw a proper road behind the windshield, so we just pretended it's far future and we're driving space cars on space roads, and space roads are white with black markings.

The article: it is becoming more common to work from home 1-2 days per week in large companies.
Comment: I'm working in a small company and I've been doing just that for a long time - on Saturdays and Sundays.

@obeselymorbid here they told us working from home is a privilege that they don't intend to give out unless you schedule it ahead of time, or in the long term only if you have a specific plan for getting work done in a home environment.
So far the only real at this place. Everything else is minor.

I'm in the office maybe 2/3 of a day a week.

I hear Americans consider that a short trip.

@obeselymorbid Surely even the famous German efficiency is not so efficient as to avoid the bureaucracy's primary unintended function and fail to delay the FoIA request fullfilment until after the exams have been taken?
-
@PleegWat Yeah, you'll note that they only talked about that "he requested".
His request failed because there actually were laws which prevented this kind of thing. They basically state that they can only deliver the information after the process using this information has run its course (i.e. only after the exams were evaluated and legally binding). Sort of like you cannot request the judge's notes while the trial is still ongoing.
Also, if they changed the law afterwards they probably wanted to make it crystal-clear that any request like this before the exams was doomed to fail.
The fucker also was lucky that he didn't land in a lot of hot water because he did his FOIA under a pseudonym.

That's how far it is from home to work. If I go via New York City...

@Mason_Wheeler I love it when new people find that that didn't know about it before.

Oh, German bureaucracy is very efficient. Efficient at producing more red tape than you could possibly imagine.

As a Floridian (by adoption), I have to say that this is true.

@Benjamin-Hall Although this is also true.

@dcon I love whiteboards for brainstorming and communicating complex ideas. I know some people always try to record the contents of our whiteboards. I have never needed to refer to a photograph of a whiteboard.
