And now it is showing up in FF. I am speechless.

Probably pessimism about cookie support, and it goes away if the SID cookie sticks. I wouldn't worry about it.

This site uses cookies! And if you don't like it, we'll stuff up your address bar with garbage instead! Progress!

In fact, in Opera it isn't even showing the
viewforum
field.Opera hides most of the URL until you click into the address bar

This is it, I just reproduced opening it in a private tab.

Do you know any better alternative if the user is refusing cookies? I think it was a pretty good solution. Also, phpbb can check if the IP address and session ID match.

I just opened my link in Incognito and first click got a different sid but after that the parameter was not on links. I'm at home now; before I was on cellular so my IP address is different. If it's running ancient phpbb is it also running ancient PHP?

I do: "Cookies are required on this site. Deal with it, Princess."

@tsaukpaetra If the user doesn't want cookies, he definitely doesn't want localstorate, or any of these things.

Tilde posted a sort-of good idea today, proposing that the OSDev group set up a group project for everyone. It's been suggested before, and has always proven problematic, but it sounds nice on paper.
However, the problem is that like with most such proposals made by others in the past, he is making the 'suggestion' as a transparent ploy to get people to work on his project.
OSDev.org should mention a public domain project in which everyone here could contribute during 2018, it could be any OS-related topic, it should be a technically practical and specific thing to implement.
[...]
At least for me, for this year 2018 I will work on implementing a public domain C compiler capable of producing output for any C code, at least for x86 and with minimal functionality by the end of the year.It's actually sort of adorable how he thinks we won't notice that.

@scholrlea
His suggestion gets a witty response:It is amazing that you haven't been banned from these forums for consistently offering up such horrendously malicious advice.

@adynathos Later on in the thread:
