Hint: they're probably orthodox jews. We (not that I practice) are not allowed to "work" on saturdays.
"Work" includes turning things on, like lights and airwicks.

RE: Why things are done a certain way
@Bumble Bee Tuna said:
Well, to be fair, he has a point. The compiler should be able to determine precisely where the error is occurring in the chain and point to that precise location instead of just giving a line number, saving you from the tedious process of splitting the line up in order to facilitate debugging.
I agree. Ideally debuggers should be able to deal with any sequence point, not just line numbers (and every function call and return is a sequence point).
Need better debugger UI.

RE: Looping only once
I propose a new C++ rule: unreachable increment step in a for loop is an error.

RE: Representative line: Java conversion
Looks like the "refactoring" was something akin to s/long/int/g but should've been s/long /int /g ... except it would still screw up the first comment. Anyway ... converting long to int? Why?
*sigh* I hate to be that guy, but:
java long: 64 bits, java int: 32 bits.
C long: 32 bits (probably).
Someone did say "Java conversion" right? was that C to java or java to java?

RE: Childlike sense of wonder
Did anyone else notice the line
"Microsoft Dot.net Technology is getting better and moving towards perfection… "
at the top of the page?It's really scary that people think like that. Sure, Microsoft made a nice VM and a bunch of languages to target it, and some of those languages are pretty cool (I just discovered that Javascript / ECMA-262 doesn't suck...). But perfection? Really?
