If he feels it is an important point and could be a good addition to the thread, it could be ok. Or, even better, he could start a new thread referencing that.
But of course, I don't think the idea is /any/ good, so I see no point to have posted it anyway.
Obviously he feels differently. This is clearly not the place for it though.
