how can this virus be declining on SK?

@acrow Then maybe restrict your "critique" to
SwedenFinland. And maybe it's your choice of newspapers which is the problem. Bubble and all that.
FTFY, I presume. I don't speak Swedish, so I couldn't comment on their papers.
But I'm talking about Helsingin Sanomat, which is the largest newspaper in Finland by a large margin. And on a political stance opposite mine in most matters, so it's not like I'm in their bubble.
-
@acrow So, one(1) newspaper? And that allows you to make broad claims which we also cannot check because we don't speak Finnish? Yeah, well,
-
@Rhywden Mainly. From what has come across me, the other papers are not far off. Interestingly, the tabloids seem to be the best at spotting the discrepancy between the Finnish government and WHO advice. But even they don't really drill down to the original sources to figure out what's true.
And the TV news haven't really been better. About on par with CNN.
So sorry I can't beat to give a full rundown of my reading habits. Which is very well beside the point anyway. If the largest newspaper of the country is out like an ostritch, it should give a clear enough picture on the state of reporting. And justification enough to gun down the fools.

Status: Fed up. Converting some values from a datasheet into structures so that I can read some stuff from hardware non-miserably, but it's incredibly dull stuff. I'd rather shoot aliens.

Is it possible it's already much, much more widespread than we suspect, but with most people asymptomatic?
It's not just possible; pretty much all the actual data we have on the subject points to this being the case.
Do you have anything to link about that?

@acrow if it is 50% asymptomatic isn't enough to make it not catastrophic, I had hopes for something like 2 or 3 orders of magnitude (unrealistic I know)
-
@sockpuppet7 Do notice that the Diamond Princess population was rather elderly. Small children have a higher percentage of asymptomatic, AIUI.

I think Vò had up to 80% asymptomatic tested.
But both of these are small populations where quarantine was used to stop spread. I guess with the cruiser, definitely in Vò.
